We see that Paul, during his trips to the various churches that were beginning to develop, discovered that most of these churches held differing beliefs concerning the truth. And so, he began to write to the churches giving them the regulations and expectations of the Christian principles in order that there be unity amongst all believers. Almost all of the original groups had received their information from different people and as a result there was a great deal of confusion concerning most everything. As Paul begins to send his epistles to the churches, unification develops in most areas of doctrine, but there were still individuals that preferred their own way of thinking…Although Paul was not the only one that attempted to bring unity to all churches, Peter and a few others also tried to establish a consistent set of regulations for behavior and clarify the actions and lessons given by Jesus. And, for a time, there was a certain amount of unified belief. Then, Constantine decided to make Christianity the official religion of the known world, and here is where we see the beginning of much confusion and diverse beliefs. We must recognize that the Romans considered Christianity as an outgrowth of the Jewish religion and so many of the Jewish rituals as well as the pagan rituals that the Romans used to practice were included in the new Christianity…

After awhile, the church became so corrupted from original Christian principles that a few individuals began to voice their objections about what was taking place within the church. Martin Luther was the most notable of the dissenters, and as he leaves the church along with some others that also were dissatisfied, he forms a group called the Lutherans. As time goes on, we find others establishing various groups developed by individuals that thought differently about certain aspects of the other congregations, such as John Wesley who began the Methodist church. The Congregationalists believe that each individual church group should kind of make up the rules as they go along, and many other groups with varying beliefs. We have the Mormons, with all of their different names, and the Christian Scientists and an endless number of factions all claiming Christianity… When asked their religious beliefs, most people answer that they are a Baptist, or a Unitarian, or a Catholic and very few will answer that they are a Christian. It is virtually impossible to find a church that follows biblical doctrine without some alterations…

People talk about unification but want all others to follow their particular persuasion regardless of whether it is out of alignment with biblical doctrine or not. It is not possible to unify endless variations of belief when each of them believes that they are right. The bibles that many of these groups use are so altered that in some cases, they should not even be called a bible…

Luke 13:24-27 “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in. and shall not be able.

When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.”

Those people could not understand why the door was closed to them because they felt justified with their actions. But, the answer is very simple, and that is to enter by the strait gate because there is no other way. And, that means that the only way is the way given to us in the true Bible. Whether God will accept alterations to His words, we will only know on the Day of Judgment, but based on His Words, it seems like a pretty big chance to take when His way is so easy !!!

Matthew 7:14 “Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Sonshine is one hundred percent correct. It is His Holy Spirit that takes the veil off of our eyes and the One who gives us the true meaning. I personally am not concerned with how the physical world alters the Word. No one who listens to the Holy Spirit will be mislead. We act as if The Father doesn't already know the state of the world, He knew since the beginning of time. He is not shocked or surprised or worried, He gave us what we need to follow Him. We just need to seek Him. Paul and all the other Apostles did not have the New Testament as a book. The Holy Spirit quickened it to their hearts. They then were able by the Holy Spirit to write it down. We really need to quit relating to God with regard to the physical world, we attach our fears to Him. He knows us, He created us and those that truly seek Him, know Him.
