Christians do have levels of maturity. But how do we gage maturity ? Is it by how much knowledge and wisdom one have ? The Bible says we have to couple this with love for without love we are nothing. Humility is another trait of maturity but if we say we are humble , is that a sign of pride or what ? If we say that we are better than everybody else, is it not a sign of pride ?
Matthew 23:11-12 says But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled , and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Our Lord Jesus Christ even though He is God came to minister and give His life a ransom for many.
My pastor says we will not outgrow our dependence on God, so as we go to maturity, perhaps or for sure the more we will need to depend on God.
I believe only God can accurately gage our maturity and that one of our goals is to be like Christ and the more we are like Him the better. If the the readers have more insight on Christian maturity please share it with me or us.
Hi Ped....Yes there will always be levels of maturity... But yea..only God SHOULD gage it.....I think about the Lord saying we must become as children to enter in to His Kingdom... A child is not full of wisdom and knowledge....but full of trust, faith, joy..etc.. We are to seek wisdom and knowledge... but this is even seeking HIM (the Living Word)... then we grow in His maturity...which gradually makes us wise...and humble... full of trust, faith and joy(as children)...I feel this maturity draws others to the love of the Father...Not those who perceive to "know much"!! Its all about Him... In Him, we live, move and have our being... Amen? ...and altho you said that one of our goals is to be like Jesus...I believe it is our MAIN goal... (lol..I'm sure you do to)..For it is no longer I that live, but Christ IN me...
Depending and leaning on that everlasting arm!! Always!!
