Releasing ourselves through the Holy Spirit

Releasing ourselves through the Holy Spirit

Three weeks ago I had what a brother in Christ called a hunger for the Holy Spirit. The hunger showed up when after years of responding to altar calls for my medical problems and other needs, that I realized maybe I am not asking enough from God. That I am asking to be normal in this world. Seems no problem there but in fact there is. If we as Christians are to impact our neighborhood, family , and the world , we need to have more than the problems we are facing. How can we do that ? The answer is through the Holy Spirit.

I suggest that we go through this slowly. Who or what is the Holy Spirit ? The answer is revealed in the Bible. Well you may say you have not read the Bible and in that case let me share what I know so far. The Holy Spirit is the third Person in the Trinity. When our Lord Jesus returned to the Father, the Holy Spirit then came to earth or was sent to indwell believers (those who accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior).

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us, teach us truth while we read the Bible. He is also called the Helper. Most Christians including myself lost tract of this reality and were trying to live a Christian life by our own effort. This self effort results in failure, worries, uncertainties, defeated life.

What I learned too is the Holy Spirit guides us in Bible truth which in turn releases us to experience God and His influence in our life. Example of this is forgiveness. The Bible through Jesus teach us to forgive and love one another. Unforgiveness bring us bondage.Examine ourselves if we have unforgiveness and pray to forgive and see what happens.

Another bondage is not desiring to grow. When we avoid reading the Bible we decide not to feed our spirit, therefore we starve our spirit. Remember Jesus said man does not live on bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Where is the word of God ?It is in the Bible , search it.

I will pause here and let us apply what I shared so far.If you have not started reading the Bible, then get one and start reading it, start with the Book of John, it is in the New Testament. For those who have been reading the Bible but is unsure of the Holy Spirit, have someone teach you or you can pray and study what the Bible teach about the Holy Spirit.
