Default Why Christians Fail to Receive Healing

The Bible clearly gives the reasons and that healing is promised.

Demon possession/oppression can be a cause of sickness. Jesus cast out many demons and the result was healing. See also 2 Corinthians 7:1 for Christians needing deliverance.

Sin is how sickness came into the world so it follows that if a believer sins and refuses all correction from God then He can chasten with sickness. Repentance brings healing.
The healing of the sickness, not the sickness, is for the glory of God. John 9:1-3

Christians can be ill and stay ill from ignorance of the healing Jesus provided in the atonement.

Everyone gets the measure of faith from God but it is the believers responsibility to grow and exercise that faith (Romans 10:17 and Jude 20). If that responsibility is not met healing can be elusive. God can allow it to send that message of our responsibility if all else fails.

They can stay ill because they do not know what Bible faith is Hebrews 11, or how to put it to work James 2:18-26 and Mark 11:24 to receive healing. No one gets ANYTHING from God unless they exercise Bible faith. The first step is coming to God in child like trust being positive of His will in the matter based on His word.

Sickness can simply be a trial to defeat the devil, glorify God, and refine the believer's faithfulness and character (see James 1:2-4, 1 Peter 1:6-7) which is why there is often a period of time between asking and receiving by faith and the manifestation of the healing (Mark 11:24).
Christians get sick and stay sick for abusing their bodies. Praying over ones food is VERY important for obvious reasons. It keeps us safe from all the "stuff" in it.

Disobedience, unforgiveness, the negative things we say about ourselves, wanting to be sick to use it for control, sympathy, a hobby, ect.; involvement in the occult by Christians i.e. horoscope, ouija board, "white" witchcraft, fortunetelling, magic practices, water witching (water divining), Eastern religion like yoga all can and do result in getting sick and staying sick.

There is a culture or climate of unbelief that is in the churches which hinders those who want to trust Jesus for healing by faith from doing so and hinders the work of healing miracles by the Holy Spirit.

James 5:14-15 requires the elders to pray the prayer of faith to see the sick healed. If they are not healed then the elders did not meet their responsibility. God did not fail. They did. It is the responsibility for the sick to call for them as their first resort for healing and after that prayer their only resort.

All these reasons for failing to receive healing are given in the Bible. We have had to deal with many of them in our own lives and in the lives of the numerous people we have ministered healing/deliverance to. After the issues were resolved by direction of the Holy Spirit, prayer, fasting and seeking God in His word healing came. Some sadly were not resolved, often because of pride.

Question Re: Why Christians Fail to Receive Healing

Are these the same reasons Christians fail to receive 'emotional' healing? Is it pride, sympathy, and playing victim that plays a part in not receiving the healing. Or can it be that we don't recognize the healing power that is just as real for the broken hearted and the mentally challenged?

Are there no witnesses of once being freed from mental challenges? There has to be, the shed blood of Jesus does not play favorites.

GW >> Hogwash. You have made your theory into a formula, so if it doesn't work, it is because "there is sin in our lives" or because we don't know how to take the proper steps. Grow up and learn that our God cannot be manipulated into "healing us" if we follow the rules.

Lastly, when you get sick and all your formulas don't work, give me a call to talk about it...

Please... Learn to know the heart of God first and the we'll talk.

I prayed for a suicidal teen in a mental institution that her doctors gave little hope for recovery. I cast out the demons in Jesus' name and she was released in a few days with her doctor calling it a miracle. If was.
An 11 year old boy had been expelled from his local school and a state school for violent behavior. His mother brought him to us. We cast out the demons in Jesus' name and no more issues. He was married a few months ago.

Please read the entire OP again because you seem to have missed several things.
What you are telling me is that God is a liar, has changed, or both. He clearly promises to heal with no exceptions only easily met conditions by grace through faith. Please see Exodus 15:26, Exodus 23:25, Psalm 103:1-5, Psalm 107:20 with Matthew 8:5-13, James 5:14-15, and 2 Corinthians 1:20. Jesus healed ALL that came to Him, some He he was sent to, some who did not know who He was, and several were dead. He has not changed Hebrews 13:8.
We have had the privilege of trusting Jesus for over 35 years and He has never failed to heal or do anything else He promises in His word. I have heard there are over 7000 positive promises. Please read "Our Testimony/Normal Christianity".

I agree with you. Sometimes God does not heal the body this side of the veil and His ways are so much higher than our ways.
It is paramount to know God's mind on a specific thing. This is what Jesus us taught us by spending huge amounts of time with the Father before He would go forth to minister.

What is unclear about Exodus 15:26, Exodus 23:25, Psalm 103:1-5, Psalm 107:20 with Matthew 8:5-13, James 5:14-15, and 2 Corinthians 1:20?
I fact Jesus still spends huge amounts of time doing guess what for us, just as he did for Peter?

In our Christian walk we are not promised good times. Those who say so show their total ignorance I have Cerebral Palsy and it is as God wills.

I cannot find that God wills any of His children to be chronically ill with any disease. Please give me scripture. Here are some that say God promises healing: Exodus 15:26, Exodus 23:25, Psalm 103:1-5, Psalm 107:20 with Matthew 8:5-13, James 5:14-15 and 2 Corinthians 1:20. You can believe God's word or the religious lie of Satan. Your choice.

A few years ago a football player named Rae Carruth played for the Charlotte Panthers. Rae liked the ladies but did not want the children which were born from his unions. One lady in particular was pregnant and a hit was put on her which eventusally landed Rae in prison.
The lady died after a brave struggle for a month and her son was born with cerebral palsy due to the lack of oxygen from hos mother having lost so much blood.
The baby was taken by his grandmother and is being raised by her. You should google him because Chancellor Adams is one of God's most blessed children and a witness to the love of God.
People are changed by the love which exudes from Chancellor Adams and the joy he has possessed since his birth into such a mean world.
