Default A TRUE CHRISTIAN BELIEVER (Contrasting WoF)

A True Believer (In contrast to WoF)

A different approach.

Luk 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

First we must discern the times we live in, in order to know what the Word/Jesus prophesied about today's church.

Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the
Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful
and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor
hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither
cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased
with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not
that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire,
that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou
mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do
not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou
mayest see.

Verse 18 means you will suffer as Jesus did here on earth, and you should be looking through the eyes of the Sprit and not by your way of seeing things.
Act 5:40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles,
and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name
of Jesus, and let them go.
Act 5:41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that
they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

Act 9:16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be
that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Rom 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Php 1:28 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token
of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
Php 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on
him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Php 1:30 Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

2Th 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

2Ti 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

2Ti 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

2Ti 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Heb 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to
enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

1Pe 2:20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

1Pe 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

1Pe 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Jesus was perfect, and if you love Him you will also be rebuked and chastened. Who today accepts a rebuke or chastening?
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be
zealous therefore, and repent. (We must repent!)
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man
hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and
will sup with him, and he with me.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Rev 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Do you believe we are in the last days? Have these greatly increased? Famines, earthquakes, unusual weather (Climate change), wars and rumors of wars, people who are lovers of self rather than lovers of God, knowledge greatly increasing, unnatural affection (homosexual activity greatly increased), children disobedient, times as in the days of Noah, violence, those who want to hear only good and what they can get, instead of God's wrath for sinners, Israel becoming a nation…

Now let's look at what Jesus prophesied about today's Christians.
Rev 3:17
Rich on earth = man's doctrine, a lie according to God's Word.
Rev 3:18
Gold tried in the fire = God's truth, rebuked and chastened from the Lord, and is zealous for God's Word, and REPENTS!
Rev 3:17
Earthly rich man = "wretched", "miserable", "poor".
Rev 3:18
Spiritual/Godly rich man = Storing and knowing your treasures are in heaven.
Rev 3:17
Earthly rich man = spiritually blind, no Spiritual understanding.
Rev 3:18
Spiritual/Godly rich man = follows by faith and not sight, eyes covered with "eyesalve". Obedience to God's Word.
Rev 3:17
Earthly rich man = Naked, not a righteous man. Not dead to self so that Jesus may live in him. Not clothed in "white raiment"
Rev 3:18
Spiritual/Godly rich man = Clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Putting on the armor of God or "white raiment", meaning an intimate knowledge of the Word. Giving up the things of this world to fully follow Jesus.

What are some of the biggest lies being taught in today's church?
1) Christians are to be rich and healthy, and a positive confession of things, thinking they are gods and can make good things happen. LIES! Most preach today how if you are a Christian everything will be wonderful.
Rich, Healthy, and Positive Confession are not God's Truth for us here and now. We are to be dead to our wills and wants, and ONLY seek His will for our lives, which was determined by God before the foundations of the world. You can't say it's God's will for everyone to be healed, because we don't know what is best, and the greatest outcome for the perfect will of God. How are we to pray? THY WILL BE DONE!!! "GOD's Purpose"
2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

God's Word, which is God (Jn 1:1-2, 14), warns everywhere about earthly riches, and that not everyone will be physically healed.
2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities (SICKNESS), that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2Co 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities (SICKNESS), in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Just look at the lives of the Prophets, Apostles, and Disciples? Were they wealthy? Did they use Positive Confession to make their lives better or make God do something by their words? Were they all healthy? More importantly did Jesus teach these things? NO!!!

"Positive Confession", which is witchcraft, thinking you can
force God to do something by speaking His Word. This is
dangerous, wrong, and very evil. No one can make God do
anything, except what He pre-determined before the
foundation of the world for each and every person who will
follow Him. One thing is certain, there are no examples of
anyone doing this in scripture, which proves it wrong. Two, if
we are dead and it is Jesus who lives in us, why would we
tell God what to do? Even Jesus said, "not My will, but Thy
will be done". God's Word, which is Jesus, is not a magic
book to think you can tell God what He needs to do here on
earth. Doesn't it say:
Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the
mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints
according to the will of God.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his
purpose.
Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to
be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn
among many brethren.
Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

What about speaking to a mountain...

The entire context is about producing or not producing fruit. It also is about the things (mountains) that stand in the way of our faith. We are to do this by spending time (fast) with the Lord Jesus, and praying to discover God's will for our lives. If everyone could be healed physically by faith then scripture would prove that, and it doesn't. We are to pray and seek God's will to be done, and none of us know what the greatest good of any situation should be, except God alone. No where does God give over His creation powers to us, but through us His will MIGHT be done. Why do so many Christians suffer and die? For God's glory, according to His word. How are we to pray? ...Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done... You can't take one verse out of context to build your theology, because it then becomes a cult. If Jesus (the Word) is the same yesterday, today, and forever, then all those throughout the Bible could have spoken to their situation to save their lives, but not even Jesus did that.
Mat 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for
verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it
shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Mat 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

So what is meant by "...nothing shall be impossible"...?
Mat 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
So it's with God that all things are possible. And if God, then it's His will which will be done.

Whose mouth do we live by?
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Jesus, who was also God, only answered with God's word and always
it being the Fathers will, and not His own. Jesus said:

Joh 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent
me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I
should speak.
Joh 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Jesus being our example.

How sure are you that what you say is what God has told you to say?
Jesus also said this:
Mat 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall
speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

What is God's will for us?

1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1Th 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
1Th 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1Th 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.
1Th 5:20 Despise not prophesyings.
1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God's Will (Obedience to His Word)

1) Follow and do what is good, for you and all (II Th. 1:8).
2) Rejoice in the Lord always (Ps. 32:11).
3) Pray without ceasing (Prov.3:6).
4) In all things give thanks to God (Ps. 30:12).
5) Don't put out the Holy Spirit. Don't say no to good (fruits of the Spirit) and do evil. (Luk. 6:33-35)
6) Don't despise prophesying (Prophecy will never conflict with the Word of God. II Pet. 1:21),
7) Prove everything and hold on to good (Rom. 12:2).
8) Don't do anything that even appears evil (I Tim. 3:9).

Do this, and you will be blameless at His coming!
This is what a true follower looks like.

1Co 4:9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles
last, as it were appointed to death (but alive in Jesus): for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
1Co 4:10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in
Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honorable,
but we are despised.
1Co 4:11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and
thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain
Dwelling place;
1Co 4:12 And labor, working with our own hands: being
reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
1Co 4:13 Being defamed, we in-treat: we are made as the
filth of the world, and are the off scouring of all things unto
this day.
1Co 4:14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my
beloved sons I warn you.
1Co 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in
Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I
have begotten you through the gospel.
1Co 4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
Who can say this about there life today?

Vs. 9
…appointed to death… …made a spectacle unto the world, angels, and men…
Vs. 10
…fools for Christ… …weak… …despised…
Vs. 11
…hungry… …thirsty… …naked… …buffeted… …no home…
Vs. 12
…labor with hands… …reviled… …persecuted… …suffer…

Vs. 13
…defamed… …filth of the world… …off scouring(outcast)…

Why is he writing this?
Vs. 14
TO WARN US!!!

Vs. 15
There are many who say they come in the name of Jesus, but to deceive you with lies. Example: To be "Healthy, Wealthy, and using witchcraft like "Positive Confession".

1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

1Ti 6:4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

1Ti 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Follower of Jesus:

Luk 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Luk 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

1) Deny self = Disown self (Your life no longer belongs to you, God's will be done)
2) Take up your cross = Knowing, as Jesus said, "you will suffer as I have suffered", doing the will of God.
3) Follow Me = Jesus is the Word that was made flesh. Obey it!

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

If you follow what a man has taught you, you are a follower of man! NO eternal reward!

If you are a follower of Jesus, then you know and follow His Word. Eternal Life, if you continue and "overcome".

Godly riches are Spiritual understanding, walking and living in truth...

How do we obtain this?

2Ti 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Psa 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
How should we live, and what should we watch out for today?

1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
1Ti 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is
certain we can carry nothing out.
1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith
content.
1Ti 6:9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which
drown men in destruction and perdition (HELL).
1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which
while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1Ti 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and
follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

God's will is for all to live Godly, being a testimony with the lives they live, and by being bold and witnessing without compromise, or fearing you might offend someone. Fearing you might offend someone is the same as being ashamed of your God and His truth.
Fear God and obey His commandments!

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the
whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

it being the Fathers will, and not His own.

Dwelling place;

TO WARN US!!!

Vs. 15
There are many who say they come in the name of Jesus, but to deceive you with lies. Example: To be "Healthy, Wealthy, and using witchcraft like "Positive Confession".

1Ti 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

To RonEvartt,

I saw this in the blog too, I would say that you wrote this beautifully. Lately I have been learning under Pastor Jerry Dirmann whose teaching have some partial similarity to Word of Faith movement. Are you familiar with Pastor Jerry Dirmann of the Rock Church, they have a discipleship class named Operation Solid Lives.

Maybe not all Christians have material prosperity or not all get healed, but I would not think that you are against prospering and being healed, or are you ?

Lightbulb A True Christian Believer

This article explains very well the necessity to sacrificially devote our lives to God's service but it fails to give any concrete examples of just how we can accomplish this.So let's start with one way that is totally contrary to the teaching in most churches:

1 Corinthians 7:32-35 (New King James Version)

32 But I want you to be without care. He who is unmarried cares for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord. 33 But HE WHO IS MARRIED CARES ABOUT THE THINGS OF THE WORLD,how he may please his wife. 34 There is a difference between a wife and a virgin.THE UNMARRIED WOMAN CARES ABOUT THE THINGS OF THE LORD, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world, how she may please her husband. 35 And this I say for your own profit, not that I may put a leash on you, but for what is proper, and that you may SERVE THE LORD WITHOUT DISTRACTION.

I am not against true prosperity, which is spiritual. Earthly riches is not to be consumed upon our lust, and God's Word teaches clearly a man can't serve God and mammon (wealth).
Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

As for healing I myself have a life threatening disease and whether I am healed or whether this body dies, I will not die, but pass from death unto life. For everything give praise unto God, and all things to be according to His will.

I have been healed by the Lord, and He has spared my life several times of certain death. Those who seek healing will be healed, and it may be physical or it might be spiritual healing. How we live when we are at our lowest, or weakest, can directly effect others for God's glory. I would never assume to know God's mind or what would be the greatest outcome of any situation concerning His will. However I can now understand how Paul and others count it all joy, because while I am weak, He truly is made stronger in me. I currently am living with severe pain from multiple injuries, and my pill of choice is meditating on the Word and our Lord Jesus.
Life is to be lived one day at a time, and each day is a new day for the Lord. Take up your cross daily... Seek Him early in the morning...
Psa 63:1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psa 63:2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Psa 63:3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

Vs. 3 His loving-kindness is BETTER THAN LIFE!

To Ron,

For clarity for others and for me as one of your readers, what do you mean by" WoF"?

Ron,

What you said is true, we can not serve wealth or mammon or riches but we can have wealth, mammon or riches serve us. Do you see the difference ?
Noah built the Ark, do you think he can build the ark without resources ?
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph,Joshua, David, Solomon prospered. Joseph of Arimathea gave his tomb to Jesus. Today's spread of gospel is partially accomplished by material resources.

Apostle Paul has been healed and protected many times till he is finally called home (heaven).

But in truth really money is deceptive, an example is even in the temple in Jesus time, animals for sacrifice are sold for profit that our Lord drove the money changers in righteous indignation. Even the Lord Jesus was sold for 30 pieces of silver.

A good use of money is shown by the story of good Samaritan.

Money is still a neutral object even in churches, but we either make it good or bad by our attitude and handling of it.

WoF is Word of Faith. Associated with Hagin, C. Dollar, Copeland, Olsteen, Duplantis, O. Roberts, TBN TV, and many others. They all preach a different Gospel, and make Christianity all about "YOU". Ex. = Copeland, "YOU are the prophet of YOUR life", Kenneth Hagin, "Create The World YOU Want To See"... There are many similarities of the Word of Faith to Mormonism, New Age... They take scripture out of context to twist into their perverse version of the Gospel, and even lie. Their emphasis is put on wealth and health and how Christians who follow their teachings can live in the "Kingdom Age" now, even though some of the leaders of WoF have died of what they claimed the Lord healed them of, or died young. They believe their words create the reality of their world, which is what Gandhi and many New Ager's teach. They obviously don't believe in One God and One Creator, thinking they have creative powers within their speech. It will always be God's will which will be done, but the Enemy will deceive many with signs and wonders to give them an even greater delusion. If signs and wonders don't line up with scripture, or it's not found in scripture it's a lie from the Enemy. Ex. = Falling back or slain in the spirit, unholy laughter, drunk in the spirit, stretching your hand towards someone to pray, false tongues (the word "tongues" is plural and refers to languages, not a word or phrase spoken), prayer clothes, sowing seed "money"... What is really sad is how many sit under this teaching remaining poor and sick, but continue believing their lies, never knowing or experiencing the true joy of the Lord, or the fact life is about God and His will, seeking His righteousness. They never know what contentment is. They are not like Berean's who were eager to study God's Word for themselves to know the Truth (Acts 17:11).

Wealth is for the Lord's purpose not our lusts. Riches, or being "increased with goods", as spoken in Revelation consumes our time and lives, removing our focus and reliance on Jesus to what we have (gods). We don't need money to serve the Lord Jesus, we need total reliance upon God and His provisions for His work.

Psa 112:3 Wealth and riches shall be in His house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Fundraising is man's concept, and is not scriptural. A man of God need only have faith that what God's will is for his life, God will perform and provide. Was a fundraiser done to feed thousands from a couple of loaves and fish? Did the Apostles tell Jesus to wait when He called them, or that they would follow just as soon as they raised enough money to start their ministries? Did Jesus require we have a vision for the Church and start a fundraiser? If we ALL would only follow the Word and live Godly, witnessing at every opportunity, making true followers, "Disciples", we wouldn't have need of all these big ministries that mostly require more money to operate than what actually touches anyone's life for Jesus sake. Planting seeds is just another way of saying, "let someone else do God's work", when in truth He wants each to do their part. Ministry has been a competition now for many years, and most think we need to follow those who are growing and building their kingdoms here. Is their visions from God or their desires? To make a true disciple requires one on one mentoring and follow through. The truth is, Jesus said, "few will make it", but a lot will be very religious, busy thinking they are serving the Lord.
Build the Church, and the Church is the body of believers, and not a Mega Church building.
Do you really think the Word/Jesus would tell a rich man to sell all that he has and give to the poor, AND THEN COME AND FOLLOW HIM? Why not, hey buddy you're wealthy, come with me and then I, Jesus, can really get a lot done. You're to give Him your life, and what does Jesus need in this body besides food and clothing? Does Jesus want or need all those things people have?

Man Of Perdition

Man of perdition has come to kill
He has stolen the minds you've been given deaths pill

The sons of perdition working day and night
Occupying your mind, it's all in plain sight

Blinded by greed and selfish desires
TV, events, electronics from hell, Tick Tock times up, your life expires

To Mega Church you go, to listen without fear
Man of perdition they're willing to hear

Study hard for prosperity and health
Seeking their own, the lost are now stealth

Just wanting to add to their country club list
So the preacher has money balled up in his fist

The Church doesn't know
The Wolf is as snow

They fall back, and they laugh
There's no rod or His staff

Their comforter "new fables"
But a rebuke is not on their tables

They should be accursed
Because no one rehearsed

There's no great harvest for us at this end
Few will make it, only those who don't pretend

If you find it in context, the story complete
Backed up with another, God's Word did you eat

If you took a little here, and you took a little there
Put it all together, you have complete despair

You know what I write
It's not my delight

Too many are lost
Eternal life is the cost

So study to know
Be rooted and grow

Pray for understanding
God's Word is demanding
