| | | Is Jesus God? Some here seem to be denying that Jesus is, in fact, God. I think they see Him as the perfect representation of God, but not actually God. This needs to be sorted out, because my entire faith system, the whole of my belief, rests on the assertion that Jesus is God. In all honesty, it feels like blasphemy, in my estimation, to suggest otherwise. Who, then, is Jesus, and who is God? I would like to look into scripture in answering this question. Please state whether you believe Jesus is God or not, and then give scripture to back up your belief. I am very interested in what we will find. Thank you. | Today

| | Re: Is Jesus God? Yes, All Three are God
Creator God as the Father, (The Big Guy)
His Co-Creator the Son,-(JESUS: who is sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession continually on every believers behalf)
and Equal Creator the Holy Spirit - (Comforter: who is not in heaven right now cause he is here on earth within every believer)
The three are ONE GOD but three personifications |

*My personal favorite are the self-proclaimed prophets that believe they have hidden insights regarding the nature of God. i.e. run from the evil pagan denominations and follow me, "Mr. Profound," as I whisk you away with my deep wisdom. |

| | Re: Is Jesus God? I like the story of St. Augustine.., he was strolling down the beach pondering on the Mystery of the Holy Trinity when he saw a boy scooping water from the sea and pouring it into a hole he had dug in the sand. bemused, he asked what the little boy was doing. the boy replied, "i'm trying to pour the ocean into this hole." "that's impossible," St Augustine remarked, to which the boy said, "so it is impossible that you ever understand the Mystery of the Trinity" after which he promptly vanished.
The point is that some things are truly beyond our comprehension.
The Father, Son, Holy Spirit all share a "Divine Nature" ... I would say more on this but tired tonight. |

| | Re: Is Jesus God? One more thing... to answer your question,.. "is Jesus God" Answer: Yes! He is the great "I am." Do I understand how? Not really. It's a good thing truth is not dependent on my understanding. |

| | | Re: Is Jesus God? Amen Mark. In Proverbs I believe, we read how the enemy hides in the shadows of the street casting out nets to ensnare and lure in the poor. Ah, the appearance of an angel of Light during a person's dark seasons? Satan surely lies in wait for moments of weakness, with direct intention to catch the vulnerable at just the right time and offer a deceptive Hope that appears Bright, and when a person is in a gloomy or dark estate, they are more easily vulnerable to the appearance of any kind of light.
It is far more advantageous for Satan to lure his victims than to come right out and announce, I am Satan, follow me. How many are going to willingly in a right mind serve Satan? Alas, he must lead by deception and lure into delusion in order to gain willingness to follow. Promises-promises he makes, but delivers only the minimal that is necessary to gain cooperation. He will never yeild up the rewards he promises, but keeps his followers running after false Hopes of glory that will never be given in any measure more than the minimal it takes to secure them. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
