Default Universal Salvation - everybody gets saved?

Hello.

Is everybody going to heaven? Is everybody saved? Universal Salvationists believe so. Is it a fact? Or is it fiction?

The standard line is...'There is something wrong with you for wanting others to go to eternal doom and gloom' OR

'There is no hell, everybody will go to heaven'

OR

'God is powerful enough to save the whole world'

Nobody is going to be dragged into heaven kicking and screaming, but by the same token there will be no strangers in heaven.

So what is your opinion on universal salvation?

The answer that counts is God's. Everything else is a belief or an opinion, at least, in the eyes of most others.

But for a basis for opinion the following verses seem to indicate that some will not have a place of continual fellowship with God.

"The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth." Matt 13:41-42

Indeed. So what does god say about universal salvation?

There is a difference between grace and mercy. I believe that mercy was given to all, but grace was given as a gift. And the gift was given to people god has chosen. Should we appologize for his choice?

well the bible teaches that man is seperated from God because of sin. The bible also teaches that Jesus came to pay the price for our sin. The bible also teaches that in the end times the unrighteous will be cast into the lake of fire.

I dont think everyone will be saved only those who have the testamony of Christ.

As you said on another thread here, we are all sitting in hell now. I believe that when our time here is finished we will either return to dust and have no more pain and no more memory and no more anything; or we shall forever be with our God.

To whom should we apologize for the choices that God has given us? We simply take the choice we desire and thank God for those choices. Some will not thank Him for anything and they will beamong those that are dust with no memory of anything anymore.

There is a Heaven and there is a lake of fire. One will have to chose where they will be, like you said no one will enter in heaven kicking and screaming. And as you said grace is a gift, A gift is only a gift if it,s been recived, One will chose where they go.

Yes, the bible says that the beast and the false prophet will be captured and thrown into the lake of fire, the same lake where people who's names have not been written in the book of life go. The names of those in the book of life, have been in there since before jesus was crucified. He said to his disciples. 'Do not rejoice that the demons dance to your tune..but be happy that your names are written in the book'. Which is why salvation is not our choice, but rather gods choice.

If there are people are going to the lake of fire...this lake is also called the lake of burning sulphur.

We know that atoms cannot be destroyed. (Well i guess unless God destroys it completely and makes it dissapear)

One way to make a tree dissapear, is to burn it. The ashes does not look like the tree, but the ashes and the air, have recieved the mass of atoms that was originally in the tree.

So the lake of burning sulphur is a place where stuff go from a 'tree' to ashes.

But metals dont get burned up...they only melt. We are likened to metal in the bible, and the world is likened to stuff that can be consumed. So the all consuming fire of god purifies us from dross, and we come forth as pure metal, but the world is consumed.

But what about the spirits of the people in their bodies? Where do they go? To a lake of fire. What kind of pain can a spirit feel? If we had the answer to that question we would understand how the lake of fire, can be torture.

Any ideas?
