Default Emotional Adultery

Where is that mess in the Bible????

Scripture and verse, please

There's this guy on another message board who always vomits that up when two people who of the opposite sex who are in a relationship with other people commune. Like you can't be friends with a male/female and NOT be interested at all.

Hello One.

The verse your looking for is mathew chapter 5

5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

I would think being friends with the opposite sex is fine. Jesus was talking about lusting here

Yeah, see that's what I think...if you lust, but if you're doing NOTHING other than carrying on a conversation with someone who just happens to be married then how can you commit adultery emotionally? This guy has self-esteem issues.

Daniel, did you are do you ever have a problem with this? looking at the opposite sex and lust? I drove a truck for 25 years and tryed my best to live right. or thought I did, and that was the biggest problem i had on the road. I dont look at other woman and lust, but sometimes the devil will try to put the though there. Andf I have talked to other friends I have and they say they no problem with it. I dont know if they was telling the truth.

Your not One, if that means adultery for talking to a married woman for me or a man for you.boy we are in trouble. or I am. I talk to alot of married women. I also think we cant help what comes in our mind sometimes, but if it is lust then we should ask the LORD to take it away. and who ever was bothering you on that, i wouldnt pay him much attention. I have always wondered how a person can read your mind and them not even be talking to you.

I believe that Job was addressing this very issue in himself with these words:

"I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?" Job 31:1

Sounds like he may have found a solution.

As for me, well at age 65 there may be snow on top, but there is still fire down below and it does cause trouble at times. Help us all Lord!

As to conversation...

I'd be more trouble at times with members of the opposite sex, married or not, if I were to remain silent at all times.
