A "gay exorcism" on YouTube: Thoughts?

I personally find this video appalling. Obviously this teenager is suffering from a seizure while it's happening, but it looks as though he's being hit and kicked as well during this so-called "exorcism" to, I guess, get the gay out of him?

It hurts me that these sorts of things are happening. It seriously does. It's a step backward, in my opinion, and maybe the church should have looked more into it rather than just resorted to an obviously violent attempt at an exorcism.

That kid will be forever scared to step foot inside another church.

maybe it shouldhave been done in private?

When the Lord rebuked the devil out of some one He done it in public.

but then again, I got the felling you dont believe being gay is from the devil.

not here to throw names or bad mouth anyone.

but that didnt bother me at all. only the boy, man, what ever I hope he got delivered.

that is if he wanted out of the gay life.

Can anyone set up a ministry? Can you simply call yourself 'Prophet' and carry out this sort of abject nonsense?

Does anyone care what the person writhing on the floor wanted? If this was done against his will, then your rage may be warrented. What if this person wanted this? Must your beliefs about sexuality be so absolute that you cant accept this even if the person wanted it?

First and foremost you can't cast out the flesh. Secondly I agree this is wrong for many reasons. It makes a mockery of the authority we have been given in Christ. We do not need to go through this type of scenario or drama. Even the enemy gets a kick out of all this drama.
And for the young man, I would wonder if he is young is it being done by his choice and for the right reasons. I also agree that the wounds from such a thing has far more negative effects than helpful. All one needs to do is talk to the victims of such scenarios. Prov 18:19 "A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city"
Everything about this is wrong. This is the problem when things get out of balance. I will not be convinced that one has to make a fool of themselves to stand in the authority we've been given in Christ or to make a mockery of Him.

That's a good point....

*I think this video is just a mockery of Christian faith... it would be like posting a college campus preacher that's babling about the end of the world and saying "what do you think about it"....

how would one act or do having a devil cast out of them, should they be not as wild as this shows? Now dont be grabing big sticks to come at me, remember! where brother and sister.

I do agree people do carry on more than what they should in casting out devils.

Well tell me how the wild shows help? Do you think it scares a foul spirit or demonstrates authority? Matthew 8:16 says that Jesus "cast out the spirits with his word." It doesn't say he dragged people around or yelled. The enemy doesn't have a hearing problem. What did Jesus do when he was tempted of the devil? If we know our authority in Christ and are certain of it the spirits must go. I believe before engaging in this we need to have the Spirit's leading and be built up on our most holy faith and covered with our spiritual armor. Ephesians 6:10-17 Come to think of it I do have a couple of big sticks at work... lol
