| | | Unbelief runs deep regarding sins of the sexual nature..... I know it, you know it. There are many types of sins, but sins that involve sex are some of ther most incidious and difficult to uproot because it is a "you" sin, one that a part of you likes....no...loves....no...craves. It scratches an itch deep in your psyche where nothing else can scratch, a fix as potent as any drug. Satan has used sex as one of his main tools to destroy faith and hope in the heart of man. With the advent of our internet technology, and our society's infatuation with the use of sex as a way to sell anything, and our pleasure seeking mentality, what was once a problem for Christians is now, I am convinced a silent epidemic. I wrote a revealing and hard to write post on here a while back, detailing my battles with my own personal demon, pornography, and its debilitating effects on my Christian life, rendering me just a shell of a Christian, looking alive but dead inside. I know many are struggling here. I know it. In my "confession" that also detailed my extraordinary deliverance, I shared a way out a real tangible way to defeat the enemy and get his grip off your soul. In all this time not one has answered. Not one. I hurt. I hurt not becasue none have answered. That would simply be silly pride. I hurt because I know most simply have become so defeated that they will not allow themselves to get their hopes us that out there, somewhere, God has prepared a way where there is no way for one as weak as you, a deliverance so sure that it would make your heart soar. For all who struggle silently, I am praying for you, and I want you to know that I am here for you if you even need to simply talk. Nothing you will say will shock me..... nothing. I know full well what satan is capable of doing. There is no shame in being victimized by him, even though he uses shame as both our punishment as well as our chains. Listen, he is called the devil for a reason. It does not matter what you have done, what temptations you have sunk low to succumb to. God still loves you and God wants to set you free. He WILL cause you to walk after Him if only you will let him access to your heart and believe. Not enough faith? You are wrong. You have the little seed He gave you at the beginning. That is enough. All you need do now is add water...living water. God bless all in their struggles to walk Godly and have a conscience that is not seared to feel no pain, but clean and thus feels no pain. | Today

This is an excellent message Bruce and I can only think of one thing to add to it.I believe that there is another reason that sexual sin is so rampant;it is very seldom condemned in most churches. There are two major reasons for this.First, sexual sin has become so widespread that many ministers do not want to offend or anger the members of their congregations by even mentioning it.This is most apparent with the sin of homosexuality which is becoming very politically and socially popular. As the recession and eventual depression deepens, the clergy will become even more afraid of driving away donors by condemning sin of any nature. The popularity of sexual sin has already worked its way deep into the ranks of the clergy with a full 40% of all ministers polled in the United States admitting that they do use pornography.
Fortunately Jesus has already come up with an answer for this morally sick problem; "MANY WILL BE CALLED BUT FEW CHOSEN"!

Fortunately Jesus has already come up with an answer for this morally sick problem; "MANY WILL BE CALLED BUT FEW CHOSEN"! | A very sobering post Dr Frank. Many look down on the messag that I personally believe is THE message for the church in this hour, but we need it like never before. We are bordering more and more on having but a playlike gospel that sets us play-like free, with play-like joy and play-like victory. We have play-like concern for the lost and play like the things of the world do not matter to us, but they do. We have become like the emporer who was convinced by a shyster that his invisible clothes were magnificent, and all he did was shame himself and expose more than his nakedness. He exposed the folly of his walk and his wisdomfor all to see. The world sees, for it is manifesty evident, and they hate our hypocrisy, but for us to see, we must admit we have missed the mark, not by a little, but by 180 degrees, so we march on in our blindness. For us to renounce our quasi-victories, it leaves us with little left to trust in and we have to start again from scratch and throw out much of what we have been taught. The price is simply too high, so we continue on is our charade with one abother, complimenting each other on their elaborately woven gowns when in truth, they are simply elaborately woven play-like truths that do not cover our nakedness before God. |

Fortunately Jesus has already come up with an answer for this morally sick problem; "MANY WILL BE CALLED BUT FEW CHOSEN"! | I think that's true. Unfortunately, the church seems to want to follow the world so it can be popular. But Jesus says the opposite; we do not belong to the world. So sexual immorality is one way that the sheep and the goats will be separated in the church. |

| | Re: Unbelief runs deep regarding sins of the sexual nature..... I heard a message about adultery in a church I visited about a year ago.
The elder who preached of course mentioned the sins in Leviticus and when he got to the New Testament he went as far a Matthew 5:28, and THEN STOPPED! He did not cover Matthew 5:32, Matthew 19:9, Mark 10 and Luke 16. He may have mentioned I Corinthians 7 about staying married to the unbeliever. I was infuriated!!! I never went back to that church. He obviously ducked all the scriptures about remarriage being adultery and I'm certain for fear of offending many in the congregation.
I remember an old 90 year old preacher in Texas who said, " It's no use preaching on adultery anymore. Everyone is living in it." | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
