I don't know if the Mods will allow testimonies on this thread. it is my hope that they will and that those of you struggling to overcome sexual addiction will share yours.
| Not a problem! If the testimonies are directly related to this topic, you can post here... or it might be better to have them in the section of the forum specifically for 'testimonies' (under "community topics")... use your own discretion. |

Felon adventures are punk-ing out the word of the Lord, not that the Lord is made wayside for anything but that felon adventures are immature responsibilities.
I hope you men are civil enough to trust in cleaning up moral, do yourself the favor and respect yourselves with sweet belonging to adoring Christ without filth at mind and heart or else your own preachings deem sarcasm.
Please do not stray and go forth finally to the home that welcomes and not the home that astrays, the home that welcomes is being within safe tendencies and the home that astrays is being within criminal provoke.
I know this device can be creepy with images. I am sorry ladies, I am just trying to level the standard. Please ladies do not be ashamed, many spiritual beginners have lost their senses but you are fortified to endure through this as you read along. |

| | Re: Sexual Addiction The act of sex is a most precious thing....given to a man and his wife. as far as addiction goes.....just like everything else on this earth, man takes something made for good and turns it into a filthy, sinnful, and yes even an addictive act.
i belive you to be right, sex addiction is running rampent in our nation due to the fact that it is 1. a moral issue (people are cool with moral declines in a whole due to the fact, that for most, a seperation of God is a good thing, for some reason.) 2. a huge money making buiseness, 3. we, in the flesh, are weak.......
many pastors have told me that there is no such thing as a sex addict. to that i say that any sin that one tries to fill that emptiness in their heart is an addict.
an emptiness that can only be filled with the love of Christ.
now as for the act of addiction......it is a sin...and a sin can be forgiven, they can be forgiven, Christ can change lives.
the first step to cleaning an addiction is going to Christ, be it a lost person or a Christian, we need to go to Christ. |

That is very good advice for people with sexual addiction. Sexually addicted people often have had difficult childhoods including abandonment by one or both parents, rejection, and low self-worth. All addiction, of course, is a call for help, a call each of us must make to God. I'm also glad to see you've traced your genealogical line--I've studied and birthed a whole curriculum entitled "Biblical Genealogy," dealing with tracing and overcoming sin passed down through our forefathers. Encourage everyone with your great advice to stay clean--porn, etc., is a terrible bondage leading to more evil and harm. |

| | | I appreciate your comments... Hi, I read your input and I was impressed. You sounded like me. From my earliest age, my parents had no modesty as to covering their bodies. As well, my dad kept a stack of playboys by his bed, which I of course learned to view when they were not at home. Once Satan gets a claw in you, trust me, you are in for a bumpy and heart-wrenching ride...lots of guilt, lots of shame.
What I want to say is there is more to really crushing Satan under your foot. In Greek mythology, there was a story about a man who, with his ship of men, had to pass by the sirens, the porn stars of those days. Their wooing would cause men to leap overboard to get at them, and in the process, drown. As they approached the area the sirens lived, He lashed his men and himslef to the masts of the ship and struggle as they might to get free, they sailed past them with not one casualty. On the return trip, He had an idea. Instead of rope, he had his most skilled musician play on the lyre. The men were so taken with the music that they totally ignored the same sirens that had lured them days earlier. The results were the same on both trips, but how the results were achieved were totally opposite.
Likewise, we Christians that struggle with sin...really any sin... gambling, sex, drugs, alcohol, our apprach is like the one I tried for 21 years. lots of resolutions, lots of broken resolutions, short times of victory only to be squashed by large gaps of time immersed in the evils of porn and masturbation. Finally, I realized....no, no, God revealed to me, that my weakness was not my lack of will, but my lack of faith. Was there a walk so close to Him, so full of love, so overbounding with joy, that the sirens call would have no effect on me? Would there ever be a time that I KNEW the bondage was finally broken? What exactly did God mean when he said "Whom the Son sts free is free indeed?" What did God mean when, in promising the new covenant in Jeremiah I think, " and I will cause you to walk in my statutes." What did Paul mean in Romans 7 when he says " I know in me dwelleth no good thing. Woe unto me, for the things I want to do, I do not, and the things I do not want to do, those things I do. Woe unto me. Who shall set me free from the body of this death?"" And far more importantly, what did he mean when he followed up that question with OUR answer "Thank God thru Jesus Christ our lord."
When Jesus said to us "Without me, you can do nothing", he did not mean but if you try as hard as you can, I will make up the difference to put you over the edge into victory. Our problem, mine for 21 long years, was not that I was not diligent enough, not committed enough. It was rather the opposite. I was too strong, and had not come to an end to myself, and finally admitting that it is too hard, I am too weak. And God answers and says I know, and begins to loose the bonbs in short order.
This is not theory. It has happened to me, and to any who long for freedom from whatever is their "siren". I hope this helps and did not come across as preachy. It was not intended to be so, or as a know it all. Christ offers far more than forgiveness at His banquet, he offers power over the enemy...period. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
