| | | Re: What's your Ministry? I think we all have been given ministry to spread the gospel, and really we should consider that and truly feel that to be our highest calling, and I'm sure you all agree. And with this ministry none of us get a special focus, so that, "God gave me the ministry of thus and so, but still, our heart and mind should nevertheless be sold on this highest call.
I know how easy it is to get the focus onto me and "my" ministry, because I'm human and have done it, and one certain time when I did, and got carried away into trouble due to my focus "so ever subtly" being more on who and what I am (because God's in "me,"), than on being and doing what God wills me to do because he's in me, he spoke a word in my house which was...."The will of God and the will of man are two separate things." And he was not saying this to a non-beleiver but to one of his own!
So now when I think about "my ministry," I always feel a quiet alert...to remember that, nothing happens or will happen because "I" have been given thus and so calling or ministry, but much more likely, God will work through me when I am not seeing or thinking about me or "my"...but only about "Him" and how another life might see or hear him or be touched by him, if it's Him they see or hear in me and not me! You know what I mean...the more "I" am crucified, the more "He" is alive in me.
I may not have needed to say all that, but it's a reality to "me."
I am very aware of God's calling, and also aware that some significant things lie ahead in my later years, which I am on the brink of, as I always remember God telling me this years ago, and can now see things lining up that way. I have a passion to preach always, and have some, and called a "seer" and have always felt desire and some ability to "see" into people's hearts or real motives or hurts, etc. Have been told "ministry to the hurting," which makes sense to me for reasons.
We may be tough on ourselves sometimes as a Christian, or preachers may be tough on us, or the Spirit of God, but at the same time, it is better and it is a joy that "nevertheless Christ is preached!" It is a joy and relief to me to hear faith here after hearing so much disbelief and lukewarmness in other places! Amen, Sis Kim, preachergirl |

| | Re: What's your Ministry? Welcome to the Forum Kim, glad to meet you. I liked your post and I agree that often in doing what we have been called to do (the Lord always blesses us when we are following His will for us) we can start to see it as what WE are doing, and how GREATLY we are following the Lord. And of course with Pride come the fall. Help us all Lord to see all things good as coming from You!!

I am not getting excited. I'd rather be enough like Jesus to see as He is! |

Have faith, discernment/ healings/prophecy/teaching/perseverance
used in unifying, equipping the men and women to know God and their callings I Like this one...Equipping people to know God and their callings. It's always been something I've felt too...to "see" in people who and what they are, not so much as man sees, but as the Spirit of God sees, and to help lead them into, not callings of men, but of God. And I see this as a work of the ministry. I've been called a "Seer," and could relate to that in the sense that I have correctly seen the more hidden or invisible things in people, and I always attributed that to the thought that....if you "see" or look at a person through God's eyes of Love, then you might really "see" them as God does! I always tried to figure out "how" a prophetic person is able to "see" things. And I wondered, years ago when young, that since I had such a natural desire to "see" things and people, the things of the spirit, and since I have found that I have grown in "seeing" such things, if maybe I had a bit of a prophetic ministry. I learned much later that "Seer" is an older name for prophet....I've never wanted to make my own callings, so I have been meek about it...God will show me if he so desires, and he will bring us into any calling that is of him. I seem to feel a bit of prophetic ministry, that isn't really full yet, but I don't worry about it, I just love to "see" people and to "see" them with God's eyes, and to "see" their needs and certainly any hurting especially. And it has seemed like I do see hurting people even in disguise...and so this brings me back to the desire to "See" the callings in other people...so that the ministry of God's Spirit can be brought out in his people. |
