Default Judgement

I am looking for some clarity. In Matthew 13: 40-43 it says Christ will send his angels to weed out. Do tey do the judging or God???? I am hoping that God knows my heart or I could be in big trouble.

Hello Tammy and welcome to T2O!

God's love is a purifying fire. Nothing impure can remain in this love's presence. His ministering angels also have this same kind of love/fire. No, they, the angels don't judge, their mere presence will reveal what is impure or not because that which is pure remains, and that which wasn't pure doesn't remain.

Did that make sense?

With the love of Christ,
Perma

Hi Tammy.

I have always understood that when angels or prophets—or anyone—comes authorized to do a work for God that they are standing in his place...literally. That meaning that they are given by God whatever portion of his knowledge and power that they need to do the job EXACTLY how he would do it himself. So I would be less concerned about whether the angels spoken of in the verses you cited were fully-equipped to handle their task (they most certainly will be). Rather, I'd focus on your second sentiment—that of personal preparedness and righteousness. If God judges you as wheat, then his angels most certainly will.

Peace and blessings.
Jesse

Jesse,

I'm so glad you're back! I've been missing your presence.

Consider the weeds in your vegetable garden. How do you know the difference between the weeds and the tomato plants? Some people don't know the difference, but a good gardner has taken the time to learn the difference. If he did not, he would never get a good crop of tomatoes.

If the same gardener sends his children out to weed for him, isn't it likely that he will not leave them alone on the job until he is certain that they have also learned the difference between tomato plants and weeds?

Is a natural gardener wiser than God?
