| | Discretion over forum content It is the dual responsibility of the administrator of this website and the moderator of the forum to promote good faith discourse on a wide variety of topics ranging from dogmatic and moral theology to matters of current interest. This task is and will remain extremely challenging given the diverse makeup of our membership. There must, of necessity, be a broad tolerance for legitimate expression of opinion to be balanced against our obligation to exercise a certain amount of discretion over content always keeping in mind the overall objectives of our website which is to promote Christian unity and to promote truth beauty and goodness for the greater glory of God. It is impossible to please everyone in the exercise of our discretion but nevertheless, that can not deter us having to make choices - either in stopping certain threads or in extreme cases, banning members from our website.
This website does not exist to provide a platform which is destructive of our own purposes nor to promote ideas which are on the fringe between reality and fantasy i.e. alien abduction being a recent example of such. Our members, of course, are free to carry on with our private messaging systems to exchange any idea privately. The public discussions in the forum must of necessity have certain parameters that necessarily bring about certain limitations. The wide expression of opinion, even involving rather vehement disagreement, which has appeared on the forum and indeed will continue to appear is the best evidence that we exercise our discretion with considerable restraint.

I cannot say that I agree with your decision completely on the recently closed thread, but I greatly appreciate your efforts to be fair, honest and upfront.

| | Re: Discretion over forum content I do understand the position that you as an administrator, and or moderator of this forum is to insure that the content is not derogatory, Explicit, and name calling is not present or welcome. This is a forum as you said with diverse individuals, with diverse beliefs, and backgrounds. Although we may or may not agree with each others faith practice, understanding, or knowledge it does give freedom to express yourself. Sometimes when the person expresses themselves, it also creates and avenue for them to see where they may stand in truth, or where they fall in understanding. I would say if I may, not to disregard threads, as long as its not derogatory, or a explicit topic, because it is also good to understand that there are many different people with different beliefs. We cant live in a bubble, because that would not be true. As the title of the forum says, lets all be True2Ourselves. If Christ be in us who can be against us. If someone Challenges our faith, and we cant stand to protect it with sound doctrine of knowledge, Understanding, Wisdom of the faith with discretion in a peaceful manner, then we have some more learning ahead of us.

The Holy Spirit knows where we are in growth, and he is able to grow us up.
We need to be patient, and long suffering with each other, just like our Lord is with us. |

Glory to God! | Yes I know this forum would not be easy to run, and God bless Mark and you Mr. Olsen as we run the good race!
If the closed forum, is the one I am thinking of...EphWar and his wife brought truth to the forum. The truth will set us free. But sometimes with truth, comes darkness, and not every one is able to see the light thru the darkness. I am not sure if they have VICTORY in the one area they were trying to shine light into, but there are so many things we don't understand in the supernatural. Thats why we need to ask the LORD to remove the scales on our eyes, and open our eyes and ears. We need to pray for truth, discernment, wisdom, understanding, and revelation, seek and ye shall find...knock and the door will be opened to you!
Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. WO:

I agree that we are all at a different stage of maturing. I used to believe just about everything I was taught in various places.
I was in and out of different cults and false teachers. I learned just enough to know what lies they were teaching. God knew where I would be today. Jesus is my life!
Since 2000 I have been writing my testimonies and Bible studies on several sites. I am 78 years old and the HOly Spirit keeps teaching me as I am ready. I can't write a word unless I am inspired by the Holy Spirit. All backed up by scriptures.
If my own ideas happen to creep in, I am open to correction.
One item I have written is "Take One Baby Step" showing how easy to get into false teachings. I began early by reading strange so called kids books about occultic stuff.
It is getting worse since the time I was young
If I can I will post it on the forums. I kept getting I neded 10 more characters! Never heard of that before. Might have done somethig wrong.
That's my 2 cents worth!
God bless you |

| | Re: Discretion over forum content Seems like you've had a bad experience here which is a shame. Of course, if you feel that answers aren't correct you have every right to jump in and express your own view of things. That is what being true to yourself is--it doesn't necessarily mean that everyone is going to agree with you. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and as long as those opinions don't cross over any lines of morality or obscenity they have every right to be posted. That is what this web site is about---everyone being true to their own selves. If there is something that needs to be reported then that is what the "guardians" are all about. |
