Default Have you changed at all ?

A post that brother Christkid just made gave me the idea for this post. I am very curious.

Since you (all of you) have been here posting and reading and commenting and debating.
Has any change been made to you initial belief system.

example:
When I first got here awhile back I had beliefs. Since I have been here I have changed my views on certain things

the rapture
earth age
the catholic church
and other things as well

you see I was studying these things with a bias of my initial belief. But in debate of these issues through much prayer I see that my beliefs were in error. So I repented of my former beliefs on certain things and see them now in a new fresh way..Praise God.

So my question here is this. What has changed about your beliefs since coming to true2ourselves.com

I don't have a list but I would affirm that I have a better understanding of many things since reading and posting here. I believe somewhere in scripture it says" A man of wisdom will increase learning". Not that I consider myself so wise but I have learned.

You are not alone in having been changed Daniel! There are several points in what I believe that have changed during this time, but only one that without a doubt relates to some things that I read in T2O:

Before coming here, I believed that some people in most every [if not every]Christian groups would be saved. My belief in this area has now been expanded. I now see the possibility that some outside of nominal Christianity may make it into His name. Those who are in His name at their natural deaths will make it as well. Remember that even devils may have heard and recognize the name of Jesus, but they are unable to get into his names while remaining devils.

There are still many gaps in my knowledge, but God is still working on me, here and elsewhere.

John,

Interesting question, Daniel, TY! I would say that my understanding of the beliefs of others has change quite a bit and I'm learning alot. There have been some new concepts that have come to me through posts that have either changed my view on something or has given me something to think about and pray over.

I want to commend Mr. Olsen and the other representatives of this site for taking a chance on this: I really see it working to bring about deeper understanding of each other and unity in love.

But have you ever while here seen a point in scripture were you were errant and needed to change your belief ?

So you saw a point in scripture that was contrary to what you believed or were taught and changed your belief. That is amazing NFY. Thank you for posting.

In the thing I mentioned where there was expansion there was a need to change from the old to the new. The old is gone from me.

Ok John I would agree the old "you" is gone..dead even. And we now have a new John- Praise God for that

Now we have the new you with a certain set of beliefs that you have picked up from a few sources like Gods word-the holy spirit-church buildings-freinds and influences.

You may have misunderstood my question. I know we will all grow from each other. Im not addressing that in this thread. What Im wanting to know is if any of your doctrinal beliefs have changed completely toward unity in faith.

It seems to me that we go back and forth on this website but no one changes the way they believe.

If we believe that there is one truth and only one truth shouldnt we seek for it? If there is really only one way and everyone thinks they are correct and nobody will change how will we grow together in the same direction?

We are not to do the changing! God does it! Some changes in us may not be readily apparent to our own observations, but again that does not mean they are not there. My own belief is not so much that the doctrinal differences move toward one another as much as the Spiritual Attitudes in spite of doctrinal differences.

For some people who are fixed on never accepting anyone who disagrees with them doctrinally, doctrinal changes will be required.

There are some doctrines that personally bring me to tears, but most people here, in my eyes, do not have quite that trouble. God is able to work it all out for us if we really want Him to. It is always His job. All we have to do is submit ourselves to His control. He will not force us to allow Him to change for the better.

Ok John this is the reason I posted this in the first place. These two things you say here.
God indeed makes the changes. But God wont change those who do not want to change.

This is why we have no unity, this is why we as a people do not agree.

thank you John. God Bless
