Default My Church

Now I intend this to be a lighthearted thread. No deep thinking wanted here, or stating scripture to support your view. This is about stating what it is you would do in a church service (under the assumption that it agreed with all your beliefs-so that you wouldnt reject it right off). I list my musings on the topic below:

I would like to sing in the choir (in this church, everyones voice is perfect to the Lord and greatly desired-and others in the church can only hear it as the Lord does)

I want to preach once in awhile, and sometimes listen and comment. In this my perfect church, everyone that wants to preach take turns preaching and after the message is delivered, the congregation discusses it.

I want to teach sunday school to the children between the ages of 6 to 12 (before the terrible teens-lol) and share wonderful stories with them, and I want to get them to join together sometimes in song in front of the congregation, for I love thier voices.

I want to be a door greeter once in awhile.

I want also to be on the prayer team that prays for every need that comes forward.

What do you want to do in your perfect earthen church?

-Brad

Hey there soulheart, blessings to you!!!

Well I will trade a choir for a upbeat rockin, woohoo band, so I plan on doing alot of worshipping for the LORD! Some worship flags would be a real woohoo, with lots of colors!

Preaching sounds good, I like to do that when the annointing comes on!

And of course, prayer is front line and centre, ALWAYS a time for prayer after the service, or when the Spirit leads.

Greeting is great! I love to welcome peeps!

Fellowship is a must, our church serves food afterwards, so we can fellowship with each other, I think its awesome and a great idea! Its usually a meal, not just a cookie and out the door!

I have never been on a treasure hunt, so that would be fun! Take JEsus to the streets!

Brad I love allkinds of gospel music but my favorite is southern gospel, good beat and fast.

I dont preach, but do help the preacher{Remember i,m COG}

and a big Amen on the meal after church on sunday mornings.

I want to sing in the choir, and play guitar, my oldest son plays bass, and my yougest plays drums, so we have a band.

WITS can dance and wave her flags,

I like for sunday school, but I like for the teacher to ask questions, we have had preachers try to teach sunday school and it ends up a preaching sermon.

and of course the biggest request or want I would have is the presence of the Lord to be in the place........Dewayne

Brad you know how the COG is on sunday morning, about getting out right before 12.00 where we can get to the restaurant in time to beat the crowd, If Jesse is long winded preacher, or teacher, then if we end up going to church together, then could you start church early for me?.........Dewayne

Sounds good! Any Denny's around there? Or do you like something else that I may want to check out (I love bars, salad bars, food bars, soup bars, desert bars-love lots of choices)?

In my church there would be an invocation to bless the Kingdom of God, we would say petitions of intercession for all, we would sing Psalms, the Beatitudes, and such, we would listen to Scripture and an explanation, we would pray fervantly for various needs, pray for those who are learning about Christianity, we would bring the gifts of bread and wine in, just as we read from the early Christian writers like Justin Martyr happened in the early Church, we would offer peace to one another and make a common confession of Faith, we would celebrate the Eucharist just as we read it happened in the early Church, we would give thanks to God for his gifts, and we would depart having dedicated ourselves, and each other, and all of lives unto Christ our God for the coming week. Of course, that is what we do in my church, or, rather, in God's Church which he happens to allow me to be a part of.
