Default True Unity

I honestly dont want to post this, but the Lord leads me to, and I cannot refuse Him whatever He wishes of me.

This site is all about unity of the faiths. This is not my perception, this is the belief of the creators of this site, the ones whose vision put this site up for us all. You see it listed in various places. Even though the site is sponsored and ran by the the RCC, they honestly dont clamp down any more on anti-catholisism than they do on anti-other religious groups. They mainly clamp down on personal attacks, or non-stop arguements that keep producing the same hate rheteric. I think they do a pretty good job actually. People look at this site in many ways. Some see this site mainly as a springboard for thier own message(s) they feel the Lord wants them to preach to us.

Some like myself mainly see this site as a replacement for a lack of christian fellowship we have in our lives for various reasons. I am not beyound preaching if I feel led too, but that is not my primary focus here. I feel most here are christians, or at the least they believe they are, thats no different than any church enviroment. When I used to go to chuch, I mainly looked for encouragement in my faith, through the faith of others, through song, through the encouragement of others seeking gods will in thier lives, and sometimes to encourage others who I feel need it, or being led to.

In any church enviroment, there are those who preach, and not just the pastors/priests, but others who do it just as much. They are not always popular, sometimes they DO feel led by the Lord, sometimes they are led by thier own desires, but they are part of the church, we do our best to accept them even if they sometimes grate on our nerves. Unless you can see into someones hearts (I cant) I would think it would be best to just listen and either agree or disagree politely. Lets try and accept our brothers and sisters even if we really dont care for thier messages.

-Brad

Brad to a great extent I agree with this and for the most part I can do this. I do believe though that there is a time when sheep need to be protected as well; this is also a part of being a christian. A christian can judge the content of a message without judging a person's heart by whether or not it lines up with the word of God; this is scriptural. I believe we need to be "watchmen." If someone were to preach outright heresy then it is our responsibility to not standby as there are other younger sheep who are vulnerable.
Sometimes some things are discerned and perhaps not by all so it may be that God shows some things to some people and not to all people. I believe that there is a balance.
I've sensed from reading your input that you have a very tender spirit and I am sure that all of this that you see is difficult. I've seen your humility at times when it would put me to shame. Your witness is good and a blessing. I think we all learn from each other Brad but as in anything there are growing pains. I may be in contrast to what many think however this is what I believe.

Amen sister, I agree. It is as you said. I am basically a wimp at some things. I am actually quite bold in many things, but a wimp at some things. Go figure.

I agree, Love pulls us, fear drives us away.

Amen......I never really gave any thought to who was running the site.I never looked that close because of the post that were there. I felt a hunger for the word and the need for different perspectives to round out my(our) veiw of what God is doing today.
It's been a joy even in the debate to read and re-read many of the posts and threads here.

This is part of your OP and it is something which struck me before which in part I believe I agree with and then there is a time when you need to take a step back. I think in reference to some preaching a message it is about content and it is about leading others astray and here is where I believe we need to be watchmen as christians here or anywhere. The enemy is subtle. Something can appear to look good, sound good but something just doesn't seem right and this is when we need to be on the alert. Does this mean then that we aren't for unity? Or would it mean we are being more for unity because we are looking out for our brother or sister? These are just some thoughts that I have pondered this evening.

we are all in this together, can the eye say to the ear I have no part with you, we dont need to just be one with are particular group nor do we need to learn to love just those in our particular group, for myself Im in the group thats learning Learning emphasized to be open to all christians, this solves alot of miscoceptions that I have, it takes the whole body to be able to come up with the whole truth, that is the Lords view, Ive seen the other side where believers just fellowship with one particular group, and never have they come up with the whole Truth, they have an aspect of the truth, but their unwillingness to be open and love the rest of his children mystify me and never do they come up with any real balance which is found first in Christ and than his church
