You were never saved at some point in the past, you were saved in the beginning. And there is a difference, eh. When that little girls feet hit the floor she was headed home to her Heavenly Fathers arms. I would say I feel the same in a sense. From my earliest memory, I have never felt, or allowed myself to become, seperated from our Heavenly Father. So it has been in a way the same for me, since the beginning. |

-Brad | I'm always curious, Brad, so I would enjoy your testimony. You tell nice stories. Quote: |

Truly it is a gift from above. I forget sometimes that others have a different experience and know a time of unknowing....

| | Re: When were you saved? Well NFY, I had early schooling in christianity as my mother made me go to church from about the ages of 6 to 12, this no doubt being a large seed (thanks mom!). But I turned agnostic at about 14 and stayed that way till nearly 18 years old. I have always liked reading scifi/fantasy novels as they often show a "better" way of life, with mankind eventually making life better. I picked up a book thinking it scifi, and found out after the fact, that it was a book on prophecy and end times. It got me thinking about the accuracy of bible prophecy versus other supposed prophets who are sometimes right, sometimes wrong, and often so vague that you cant figure it out till it nearly happens (thinking of Nostradamus and some eastern religious prophecy). I decided that biblical prophecy, being more accurate (still sometimes vague) sinse no prophecy turned out obviously wrong, that my logical mind said, "you had better jump on the winning side". So I prayed the prayer of repentence I learned as a child, and instantly felt elated, light on my feet, very joyous, and all goose bumply. I KNEW I had made the right decision right away. Never regretted it, and not being led to the Lord by a person, I was not taken in to some church to have my mind endoctrinated to specific beliefs.

When I was 8 or 10 years old, in my grandparents "front" bed room in FL, it was summer because that is mainly when we would go stay with them for a week - this is when I said what is called the sinners prayer. I assume that is what was being asked for not a discussion of the book of Life sort of question? Though that one is interesting too hehe.

I read a story once of a young person seeking to be saved who came across a clergyman. After speaking for a bit, she asked him, "When were you saved?" He stated, "Sometime in the Spring of 33AD." This is also what I consider as the year I was saved as well. |

| | | Re: When were you saved? Sweet testimonies...and so young. My 24 yr old boy, at age 5, insisted I pray with him "Now"...because he needed to get saved, and I could see he was under true conviction. My today 12 yr old girl saved and "transformed" in this Revival I keep talking about. My today 5 yr old also loves God, and my other 20 yr old girl. Gifts from heaven to me are these things!
I was an 18 yr old newly married aimless pothead, who never knew anything about God, except the Baptists next door took us to church as little kids and the Christmas tree at church fell on me! ha ha!
I laid in my teenage bed after sneaking in at 4AM, stone drunk, age 17, asking Who, I did not know, what real reason there was for me to live a better life? What does it matter if I please people, my parents etc, if I just die and am dead? Pleasing people, or pleasing the superficial wants and expectations of man never was a good enough truth to me.
Heavy, heavy conviction in my house in Tenn, where God had led us newly married people...to the "Old timers" in a southern baptist church...who did not play around! But believed the best thing young people can do is get right with God! You bet...they made sure we were in church! And at sunday dinners at their houses getting preached to! NO TV's with them people! ha ha!
I thought I needed to be in church or atleast get the preacher! I knew so little. But since I couldn't get him, made hubby get on floor with me while I....begged and cried and pleaded and cried for God to save me! The crying came in God's presence there on the floor. I seemed to hear a voice say..."It's ok now, you can get up." I was afraid to get up unsaved!
I sat up and felt an unbelievable, unearthly, magnificent Peace! The peace of knowing all your sins are washed away? Amen. Joy like a River! I "knew" I was changed! My Life now had meaning! I burned all my rock records..ha ha! Hubby flushed the pot. No more drinking! Called to ministry shortly after.
Amen....the Transformed Life! The New Life! Born Again! And you too...Amen! |

| | Re: When were you saved? My earliest memory of contact with, recognition of, and love for God was at the age of 6 years [about 1949-1950] when I went to the Roman Catholic Church for baptism in water. From that day to this there have been experiences with my Lord, which would fill a book.
