Is the gospel againts the commandments of God Is the Gospel of Christ against the commandments of God?
Matthew 4: 23-25
23And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
Matthew 9: 35-38
35And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
Do we see anywhere concerning the preaching of the Gospel that it is against the commandments of God? How can the Gospel be against the commandments, and the commandments against the gospel? That is impossible because they both come from the same source with the same intentions
The gospel is the preaching of the coming of the Kingdom of God. Most understand that the this in part. The part that most don't understand is where the Kingdom of God is to come. The Kingdom of God must be in you.
Luke 17: 20-21 20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
This preaching of the Kingdom of God which is the gospel is not against the commandments. Where do we think the commandments came from? Did not they come from God, just as the gospel of Christ come from God? Yes indeed.
Is the gospel better than the commandments? Is the commandments better than the gospel? No, the are both one and the same. The gospel was preach to those of old testament times aslo as it is preached to us. Before Jesus came down in the fashion as a man, he was the word. Is not commandments the word of God? Isn't Gods word always given to bring on to eternal life?
Lets take a look at the scriptures showing how the gospel was preached back in old testament times.
Galatians 3:7-9
7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Was not Abraham her before Jesus fashioned himself as a man? Yes. So how did he receive the Gospel also? It is because the gospel was always preached. Again the gospel is the coming of the Kingdom of God in us, as we submit to his every word, purpose, commandment, and law. Didn't the prophet Isaiah preach the gospel when he spoke the words concerning the deliver that would come? Isaiah 9: 6-8 6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. 8The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. Is this not the gospel? Yes it is. This is the preaching of the Kingdom of God.
Hebrews 4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
This same gospel concerning the Kingdom coming in us was preached to them of old time just as it is to us, but without faith one can not receive the gospel and or commandments.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
If we have faith we do as God has commanded. The children of Israel walk contrary to God, contrary to his commandments, his laws, and his gospel more often then they followed. Only a selected few which we are given examples of in the scriptures have submitted totally to God in every way. If we submit to God the Kingdom of God is in us. This is the good report. This is the Gospel. He that have an ear to hear let him hear.
The work was finished from the foundation of the world on how to enter into rest. What is the rest that we must enter in? The rest that we enter in is the rest from the destructive nature, which is the nature of walking contrary to God. We Exemplify that we rest from this nature internally as well as external. The confirmation of entering this rest in accordance with the deeds of our flesh is wan we rest on the 7th day as God commanded and has he rested.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
If God rested, should not the children of God rest after the same example also?
5And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
If we go back and look at the children of Israel, they neither rested spiritually from the fleshly nature, nor did they consistently bring there fleshly bodies subject to rest on the seventh day (Sabbath)
7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Did Jesus give another day of rest? If we claim that he did, it is contrary to what verse 8 says. All things come from God, and God in all things that he created and made. The problem is man assumes he can take what God has created and made and us it out of the purpose that God created it for. What was our purpose? Most don't know this, therefore they rob God by not submitting themselves to the purpose that they were created for. Our purpose was far above any angel. That's why satan is jealous of us, because he knows our purpose is to be one with God, which is in his image and in his likeness. Therefore Satan's whole missions is to cloud the mind so one can't see there purpose.
9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
If we are to be of God, we are of his nature, of his likeness, and of his image. If we are of God we also do as our nature which is God, and enter into his rest.
11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
We must all understand that there is labor (work) to be done to enter into this rest. The labor is the death of the fleshly nature. How does the fleshly nature die? The fleshy nature dies by one submitting to the nature of God by keeping his every word which is commandments. If they are commandments then naturally they are laws also. Again the biggest problem concerning this matter is the in-depth understanding that is need regarding the law. In-depth understanding is need know because man has fallen from the purpose of his creation, therefore what is easy is now done in great controversy, and conflict internal and external. This is the great tribulation that we must overcome. The greatest tribulation is the one between our own to ears. If we overcome that we can be the kingdom of God, and resting in the nature of God with eternal life.
The reason for this spiritual labor that we must go through even all labor goes back to the beginning.
Genesis 2: 16-17
16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Was not this commandment given to Adam not to eat from the tree of good and evil? Yes it was. Was this commandment against the gospel or of the gospel? It was clearly not against the gospel, because it was given for Adam to remain in the Kingdom of God with eternal life, which is the same reason that Christ came to confirm the covenant, and preaching this same good gospel. Therefore this commandment and the gospel are one and the same. The same goes for any commandment given, it is of the gospel. Only those with spiritual eyes can see that.
The schoolmaster
Galatians 3
1O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Who has tricked not just the galatians, but even you in believing not to obey the truth, which is the every word of God even the commandments. This is even why Christ was crucified. He was crucified because of man's disobedience to follow the word of God.
2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
What is the works of the law? Is the works of the law the keeping of the commandments? Most would say yes. Most dont understand that there is more then one law as it pertains to scripture. Most like to bundle commandments, the penalty for sin, and the nature of man all into one law. This is a gross miss-understanding. The commandments are indeed a law when you look at it from a stand point of it giving order. Romans 7: 22-25 21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. What is the law of God that Paul said he delight in? It was the commandments. The commandments of God must be our foundation after the inner man. Within the inner man (conscious) we must serve the law of God, which is his commandments. The fleshly nature serves the law of sin. It serve the law of sin becaus of disobedience the fleshly will be obedient to the penalty. We can not escape death if we sin. The law that we are not under is the law of sin and death if we keep the law of the spirit, which is bringing ourselves subject to the commandments (word of God). Romans 8: 1-4 1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. The penalty for not keeping the word of God (commandments) is death, which is the law of sin. The law of sin is not the same as the commandments. The commandments tells you what and what not to do, inturn it defines what sin is. Once you sin you have made void the commandments, and now you are under the law of penalty, which is the law of sin and death. The law of the fleshly nature is contrary to God. The flesh does'nt want to bring itself subject to the word of God. Again the fleshly nature didnt originally exist in man, until man through the subtility of satan broke the first commandment of God. Once this happend the nature of the flesh was made manifest in man. Man did not have the death sentence cast on him untill he walked contrary to the commandment given to him in the beginning. The firs man Adam brought death, and the second man adam brought eternial life, by giving man back access to the tree of life. The way we have this access is by submitting to Gods every word, and operating in the high and holy purpose that we were called in. Our high and holy purpose was to be fashioned in the image and likeness of God.
3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
How can we be made whole by the fleshly nature which has gotten us all burden with death spiritually and physically? What we must understand is that when Paul wrote this he was talking to a people in a time when the Jews were still sacrificing animals for the atonment of sin, and they were also still living under a fleshly priesthood. Both the sacrifices that they were offering, and the Priesthood that they were walking in was fleshly (carnal). Paul was simply telling the Galatians that he had delivered to them by way of the dispensation of the gospel that we must be the sacrifice, by following Christs example, and that we have a better high Priest which is Christ Jesus. Those things that they continue to walk in was carnal and very fleshly. Animals could never take away sin, and the fleshly priesthood was very blemished (unclean). This is why Christ came to be our sacrifice and High priest. He told us to pick up that we must pick up our cross and follow his same example. Did not Christ walk in the body of the flesh, not offending in any point? Yes. But many say this is impossible. For those that say it is impossible how do you believe in the power of God in you. How can God be in you and you walk contrary to him at the same time. That is impossible. It is not our will that we must submit to but Gods will, just as Christ submitted to the will of the father in all points. That is our example. How can we submit to his will and through away the commandments?
4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
Do want still understand that all things are made pure from within? We must first have a pure conscious, then we can properly keep the commandments of God not offending in any point.
5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Do we have power from God by letter, or by faith. We must first believe before anything is reconded. How can we believe in the word of God, and be against the commandments at the same time. The works of the law that paul was refering to was the laws sacrifice which done because of sin and death.
6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
If we keep the word of God by faith just as abraham keep all that was commanded of him, we are indeed the children of the seed of faith which was in abraham.
8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Heathen only means people. The people (heathen) is justifyed through faith when they do what God says by his every word (commandment). How can faith be reconcilded if we dont keep the word of God (commandment).
9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
What is the curse of the law? It is death, agian which is the penalty for sin. Sin is transgression of the law. What law is transgressed in order for sin to enter in? The commandments was transgressed therefore a penalty was added, which is death.
11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. How can we be justified by walking under the penalty? Because we have to sacrifice either it be an animal or ourselves, how is that justification? It only tells us that we were once sinners. The only justification is not to be a sinner by keeping the faith. By faith we keep the word of God. By faith once we receive grace and forgiveness, we need not to continue in sin so grace may abound.
12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
The law of the fleshly nature which brings death because of sin is not of faith. Whosoever walk after these things shall live of those things. Whosoever walk after the law of the spirit shall live with eternal life, and be the land flowing with milk and honey.
13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:What curse did Christ redeem us from? Death was the curse that he redeems us from as we submit to his will and pick up the cross as he has given us example to do. Why were we under the curse of the law in the first place? It was because we didnt keep the commadments of God just as adam didn't in the beginning. This is even why Christ blood had to go back and redeem him also.
14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The promise of the spirit through faith is eternal life.
15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
The promise was not to the physical seed of abraham which was the seed of many. The promise was to those that walk after the seed of faith. If we walk as faithful Abraham we belong to Christ.
17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
What law did Christ confirm? He confirm the law of death, by making paying through his blood for our sins. He is the confirmation that this debt is paid for those that allow Christ to live in them, we live in Christ, and God lives in all.
18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
The inheritance was not by letter, put it was by promise. All that work for a corporation recieve a letter or written confirmation of what there wage will be. At that point the corporation is bond to the written confirmation that was given, therefore you work receiving wages not by promise, but by letter. On the other hand if I tell you by mouth that if you come work for me I will give you so much, and no letter is written, if you then come work for me it is because you have faith. Therefore your wages are given to you by promise and not be letter. I hope all understands that.
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
What law was added because of transgression? What did we transgress to get the law added? The commandments of God was transgressed against, therefore the law was added, which is the penalty for sin. The penalty for sin is death, this is why those of old time had to sacrifice animals. This is also why we have to sacrifice ourselves which is our tithe and offering that we give back to God.
20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
God is in all his creations, along with his will and purpose. All the animals follow God flawlessly by nature. Are we so wicked that the beast of the earth have a better conscious then we do? God forbide. When we keep the word of God as he keeps his own word we are one with our creator, and patterned after his image and likeness.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
There was no law of penalty which that will bring life, and obedience by faith will bring life. When you were a child and your mother told you to wash the dishes and you didnt wash them when you were told, some of us recieved punishment. Because we recieved punishment were we then justified in being disobedient to what or mother told us to do? No. We where just under punishment. We got rewarded with punishment. If we do as our parents instructs us, we are rewarded sometimes with extra. Sometimes we were rewarded with the enternal understanding that we obedyed our parents because we had faith in what they had spoken. As children when we obey our parents we live to see another day without penalty. If we understand the parent child relationship, we should then understand verse 21.
22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
We were all under sin by the fleshly nature that entered into the seed of man with adams disobedience. We will only recieve the promise of eternal life by faith (belief) in Gods word, walking after the pattern of Christ.
23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Before we have faith to do the will of God, we will remain under the penalty because of the nature of the flesh, which consistently walks contrary to the word of God. Once we have faith and have become one in spirit to God, by submitting to his will, we will receive a crown of glory.
24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
The law that was the schoolmaster was the penalty (belt) that was used for correction. We only fall under correction when we are disobedient. The commandments of God including the 10 commandments is not ment for penalty, but are given to reconcile the Kingdom of God in you just as the Gospel. The Gospel and the commandments are one and the same. We no longer need the schoolmaster (belt of correction) when we submit to the word of God (commandments).
25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Again when we by faith submit to the will of God, which in turn becomes our will as are minds (conscious) are renewed we no longer need correction under penalty do we? Because we do the perfect will of God by submitting, we are then free from the law of penalty, the fleshly nature, and sin.
26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
We are all made children by faith. By faith we keep the commandments of God, and not because it is just written, but because we believe in God. It is clear that if we dont believe in the commandments we will not submit ourselves in keeping them will we? The flip side to that is if we dont keep Gods word (commandments) can we then believe in God?
27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
If we are one in Christ, then God is one in us all. We can only be one with the creator through submitting to his word even as he remains consistent in submitting to his own word. This is the great purpose that we were fashioned with when we were created, but unless we eat of the tree of life (Christ Jesus) we can't have access back to eternal life, which is our Godly purpose.
29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
If we belong to Christ, it is because we have faith in submitting to Gods every word as Christ did, which are commandments. If we do this we are heirs to the promise of eternal life.
I understand that all my not agree. One thing will hold true and that is we all will submit to Gods will either in recieving eternal life, or recieving death and destruction.
Grace and Peace to all. |
