| | The Unregenerated Man And The Flesh THE UNREGENERATED MAN AND THE FLESH
Man was born of the flesh. This means that he was born of the will of man. Hence, man is flesh (John 3:6). To say that man is flesh means that man is filled inwardly with the lusts and the things of the flesh. All day long, his thoughts are filled with evil. Man has nothing besides the flesh. This is why man is called flesh (Gen. 6:3). This means that he is a living composition of lust. Since man is flesh, he behaves "in the lusts of [his] flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts" (Eph. 2:3). Because of the utter filth of the "different flesh" (Jude 7) and the defiled flesh (v. 8), Jude charged the believers to hate "even the inner garment spotted from the flesh" (v. 23).
Because of the sin of Adam, man's flesh cannot fulfill the requirement of the law (Rom. 8:3). Moreover, man is according to flesh and he minds the things of the flesh. As a result, he ends up in death (vv. 5-6). "Because the mind set on the flesh is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, for neither can it be" (v. 7). The minding of the flesh comes from being according to the flesh. Those who are according to the flesh are the unregenerated ones. Those who are regenerated will not walk according to flesh but will walk according to the spirit (v. 4). Furthermore, those who "live according to the flesh..must die" (v. 13). They live according to flesh because they have not accepted the condemnation of sin in the flesh through the Son of God becoming the sin offering in the likeness of the flesh of sin (v. 3). This is why they are "debtors...to the flesh to live according to the flesh" (v. 12). "For when we were in the flesh, the passions for sins, which acted through the law, operated in our members to bear fruit to death" (7:5). Hence, "those who are in the flesh cannot please God" (8:8).
This was meant to help you press into Christ and not weigh you down and was written in love for those who crave the high calling of God in their life.

The worst thing about the flesh is the blindness it causes our spirit. It wants to live, to continue to bear dominance in our lives. If it cannot lives as wanton flesh, it camoflauges itself as religious flesh...whatever it takes to survive. God has offered us a way out. Abdicate our thrones and give ourselves back to Him, lock, stock and barrel, to be used of Him in this life in whatever way He sees fit. He asks us but to believe in His amazing promises that we are dead and our life is hid with Him. He asks us to believe that sin shall NOT have dominion over us, because the truth is we are not in the flesh but in the spirit and the promises of God are yea and amen for you, for me, for all who call out for the Lord Himself to redeem and save them from their sins. Understand though, the devil has access to your soul through your flesh alone and through it, he will try to convince you that this complete yielding of yourself to His hand is impossible, or it is fanaticism and a pathway to cultism, and after all, how can 99% of Christians be wrong? Lest we forget, 600,000 of God's people were delivered from the bondage of Egypt. Only two, the two who refused to doubt God's promises, inherited the land. The bones of the other 599,998 were left bleaching in the sun, buried in the sands of the wilderness. rsusing to the end to believe in His delivering power. We must realize, the ultimate motive of the flesh is sheer survival. Do not trust it, for "there is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof is death." In truth, this pathway of being His and His alone is not only the pathway to freedom from sin and lusts of the flesh, and the pride of life, to pathway to total safety and rest, it is also thew pathway to the highest joy and most enjoyable life we can live. Do not let your flesh deceive you one day longer. If you stay in its grip, you risk missing the very thing you long for, Jesus Himself..... for "they that are in the flesh cannot please God." |

"The will of God and the will of man are two separate things".....My husband "heard" these words once during a time of visitation...and the meaning goes far deeper than what is quickly perceived. Ofcourse God's word is that way isn't it? It's Truth seems to have eternal wisdom and meaning. |

Amen PG! These days it seems to me that both the Rehma and Logos are very powerful and can do a very deep and cleansing work in those who are hungry for things of the spirit.
