| | Weekend fun 3 Okay, we've packed our bags, picked where we're going; now how are we going to get there? What's your favorite way to travel?
Planes/jets/helicopters/glider planes/hot air balloon, blimp.....
Trains, trolleys, els, subways...
Cars, trucks, SUV, Semis, Vans, bus...
Motorcycle, scooter, bicycle, unicylce, electric cart...
4 legged friends: horses, pony, mules, camel, elephant...
Cruise ship, motorboat, sailboat, submarine, raft, houseboat, canoe, kayak...
hiking, rollerskating, skateboard...
I'm catching a train in Paris so to get there I'm gonna:
take the high speed express train across state to NYC
subway to the harbor district
take a cruise across to England
rent a Alpha Romeo Spider and drive the channel across and down to Paris. And enjoy my trip on the Orient Express.
And how are you doing your trip?

| | | Re: Weekend fun 3 I'll drive to Seattle via the Oregon/Washington coast. Cash in some frequent flyer miles and head for Port of Spain, Trinidad. Take the ferry to Tobago. Have my friend from Guyana pick me up in a boat. When its time to leave Guyana I'll utiliize my Dutch contacts, hop on a freighter boat, and sail on to the next learning experience. That trip will be for another weekend. In the meantime, this weekend I get to look forward to taking a trip across town and mowing the lawn for the former housesitter from hell. |

Better then exiting the belly of a C-141 in Kigali after 16 hours to 4 Russian ZSU 23's pointed at you. It's better than the prop wash of a H-53 Pavlo setting off the land mines of the landing zone you almost landing in and It's better than driving a car in Paris, of those 4, driving a car in Paris was much more dangerous. |

I'm glad you are safe and home, I pray that God will comfort all like you, Lewis, etc. who have seen such things. I have watched many die; some from their own acts, some from the acts of others, and each death took a part of me away. I grieve for us all.

| | Re: Weekend fun 3 Ah, I'm only going 5 hours south (to the snow), so I'm going the long way around.
Harley to the harbour and pick a decent cruiser at the Cruising Yacht Club. Outa the Heads and hang a left. North to the Barrier Reef and after a bit of farfing about in the tropics, park the boat in Cairns, hop into my chopper and follow the coast anti-clockwise to Perth (stopping for a bit of fishing for Barra now and then).
Four wheel drive then across the red centre to the the Alps and a snow mobile to to my chalet.
Crack that first beer and...strewth - forgot the skis! Back into the snow mobile, down the hill, into the 4 wheel and head west...
