Default A simple inquiry

When was the longest time in your life when you went without praying directly to God, since you have been Saved, or become a Christian otherwise?

A day?...A week?...longer? I am interested in how much I pray (directly to God) versus other people. Any thoughts?

I would like to say 10 hours is the longest time. But than, knowing me, I probably pray in my sleep which makes it a shorter time. And since I follow Jesus and only Jesus, like Him, I pray only to our Heavenly Father. So when I pray it is always 'directly to God'.

Mark,

I hope your intended question would be if I may; How little does the mature, Spirit-filled Christian pray? If one stops to think about this for a moment, it is a worthwhile question, that is, if someone were to ask this in this way. Wouldn’t that be the greater good of information gathered? Your two sentences surrounding the topic of prayer conditionally differ. You see, the way you have the first one worded here is emphasizing the weakest times and strongest struggles we have encountered which I am sure you wouldn’t want to do. There obviously is no shortage in that department. The second isn’t.

Honestly, even looking for a low-end proximity isn’t going to be easy. For what is the fellowship of the child of God with the Father? If close to Him, that fellowship with Him is going to get pretty complicated in that Christian’s responses to the Lord in a spectrum of emotions in prayer. One cannot take these away from the times in a day when we “stop and pray”. Personal bare minimum per-day for me of this kind, 5.

Christ’s Blessings to you!

There was a long period in my life where I was not walking close though I had been "saved". And prayer was only a consideration in a time of crisis. However, the past few years God was awoken me and now I'm praying constantly and I mean that literally. I agree, Josif, sometimes I wake myself up at night with prayers and songs of praise.

What's it like for you, Mark1614?

I have prayed at times in life "without ceasing" as has been described prior to me here. I remember times when I actually lived to find a place to hide away, if even for a few minutes, if say I was on the job, to pray. And the last couple are saying similar; there truly is a state of praying "without ceasing," so that even if you could not be physically observed praying, it's like you are in constant inner communion with God.

I Loved hearing that testimony from the last posts; it's such a marvelous way to "Live!" I'm going back to see who wrote those testimonies again.

Then there have been times when I was rather backslidden and have gone long times without really praying....

But then I also remember being in clear sin and still talking to God alot...Jesus has always been the best friend I've ever had ever, and no matter what state I've been in for the most part, I am always looking to my best friend...

Now brother...open up with us, and tell us....are you feeling a bit like maybe you are not near enough to the Lord? Why did you ask this? There's no shame...God wants to give you the closeness you may be feeling you may not have?

This is not a place of judgement even in the least, but only a place to build you up, encourage you, and if need be, turn you on to just how close Jesus wants to be with you! Maybe there's something more we can tell you? Never be afraid to ask anything of the Lord or of his people who truly have his heart, and never let pride stand in your way of reaching out to take more of the Lord of to be helped along to find more.....

because God "loves" to "Give" to those who feel they might not have all there is to have of him....so ask. love preachergirl
