Default Any hikers here?

Does anyone hike? I live on the Appalachian Trail and I walk in the woods some. A lot of Christians are out here hiking.

I hiked into Damascus, VA, in May 2006 and have not walked any further. I lived on the trail for three years running from the law and after that, I came back out to the trail and began in Hot Springs, NC, and made it here.

I'm afraid I'm a desk jockey, not too athletic.

Back in the 90s, I visited my cousin who lived in Escondido (sp?),CA and checked out the mountanbike scene. Hopefully, the limited options have improved.

Well, since you asked, I prefer to Mountainbike/hike which, like this forum has also slowed for me.

There is one thing for the time I would like to ask a man of the deeper trail, however much that may mean to you, , after 8-yrs of the previous administrationís diminished borders and the great influx of individuals of vast differences of world-views, be that favorable or hostile, , Have you personally witnessed any frequency of change whatsoever in the remote regions while sharing the trail?

I live right near the beginning of the Appalachian trail in Western NC. Me and the wife like to walk, but with me working full time and foot problems, and my wifes back problems... we only maybe get a nice walk in every couple of weeks, and although we would have loved to do the whole trail, we just dont have the money to take off for extended periods, much less the responsibility of 3 cats, a dog, and a dozen chickens.

When we do walk, we prefer non paved or non stoned, a good old walk in the woods on a trail for several miles. It refreshes the soul.
