Default Iron sharpens iron

Iron sharpens iron.

According to Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpen the countenance of his friend.

Can we apply that here ? Can we help each other be a better Christian ?

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

>Ped, I agree the word sharpen is perhaps a vague translation; do you check Netbible or other commentary? I'm sure you know our Christian duty is to try to help our neighbors when we can, but often they resist. I can't help but wonder how you got past vs 13-16, and why?

Only if we are being truthful in our conversations. If we are spreading falsehoods then nothing is getting sharpened.
