Since you asked the challenge, how do we know that you really simply simply believe ? If you can answer that maybe we can answer your question too.

Fair enough ?

Even the Devil believes, and demons tremble.

How does “simply believe”, “rejoice”, “praise and worship” differ from what these people were accustom to?
These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him.
They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

Matthew 15:8, Titus 1:16
Simply believe? Are you weary from the intricacies of 2 Timothy 3:16?
All Scripture is, , profitable, , for correction
.

The veracity of guidance from the Redeemer is clear,
He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.

(Isaiah 40:11)
Then wouldn’t we see it transpire in the book of Acts? Yes,
So we all agreed, ,
It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us, ,
You will do well to avoid these things.

(Acts 15:25, 28, 29)
Let’s see, oh yes, there are ‘guards’ everywhere, was there anyone left out? No, I don’t think so!
Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

(Ephesians 5:21)

Just who are you contending with?

Lies? Specifically where is the Apostle’s example leading us down the road of deception?

I would advise you to not make this a trivial endeavor.
