Default Present state of Christianity

Present state of Christianity

I understand this could be a hard topic to discuss but as Christians we need to evaluate ourselves honestly, gently, with as close to our Lord and Savior's expectation on us.

Let us pray and ask God how are we doing in God's business.

Ped, if you are fulfilling the Great commission, then your state of Christianity is good. And your state of Christianity is more important than others state of Christianity, for their state is between them and the Lord. You are but one vessel that the Lord has chosen. Be the vessel He intends you to be, and the kingdom of God can be made greater in this world and the next.

Brad,

Glory and honor belongs to God. You said the right word "if i am fulfilling the great commission......, honestly i believe i am far from it but my desire and efforts are toward that. I need to listen more and wait and be more patient and humble.

I believe Christians are strategically distributed around the world and what we need is for every Christian to seek the Lord and obey etc.

We need to continue to pray and ask God as you have said, Ped. Once we have recognized that we alone are inadequate to the task, we must surrender again and again yielding each time to Him so that He can complete the task within us. The work of the Church will be completed. The question for each of us is whether or not we will be included as a final part of that Church.

"Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken." Isa 28:9-13

One step at a time, Ped.

We are living by faith, so very likely way out in front of us is all darkness and muted sound with regard to the God and the things of God. f you run blindly and are also deaf what mishaps are like to happen in the flesh? But, this doesn't mean we don't move at all:

"He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

That is Jesus in us to be increasing and the old man in us and his old man's ways that to be decreasing.

We are increasing in Jesus, the Word of God. At the first we may not hear or understand much for our eyes are dim and our ears are poor receivers.

The better "hearing" comes by the Word of God [Rom 10:17] and our better vision come by means of eye salve [Rev 3:18]

Put simply invest yourself deeply in reading and studying scriptures while praying earnestly in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit in us is what will bring the Word to Life in us:

This is a daily undertaking... perhaps several times daily according to our time and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

John,

I believe you got it right. But perhaps your mention of darkness and muted sound of God needs correction or adjustment. We are not totally in the dark and signs of God is everywhere.

Perhaps when we mistook our vision for what should be happening then we got somehow out of shape.

But yes what truth we know grows little by little, line upon line, precept upon precept, as long as we are patient.

God bless us.

The truth which we know is growing which means that the Light is growing brighter. At the first when met the Master the Light seemed so bright, and so it was compared to where we were previously, but that brightness will increase as we are able to tolerate it. There are many scriptures about this if we can find them and understand them. One example is here:

"If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee." Psalm 139:11-12

And then consider also this one:

"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." I Cor 13:12

How much Light do we have? What are others seeing in us?

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matt 5:14-16
