Default Blessed And Highly Favored...

The bible tells us that we should count it all joy when we have difficulties, and the bible tells us why. Do you ever wander why you never really hear people of faith say they are "blessed and highly favored" when something happens like; losing your job, your home, car, if you became ill.
But we always hear people say that they are blessed when they get things that they want, like; a better paying job, a new home, car, all the things that make you feel good.
If we are called to be LIGHTS in a dark world, don't you think that NOW would be a good time for us (Gods people), to walk by faith???

Welcome to the forums, Paula.

Trust tells us to stand firm and wait on the Lord, even when it seems against common sense or reason to do so. When "bad things" happen, we need to draw closer to the Lord than ever and rest in the knowlege that He sees our every circumstance. This is, of course, easier said than done and sometimes we may still feel fear or even panic, and we should admit this to Him. If we cling to Him, He will calm our hearts. Trust is not built in a day, but with a sure foundation in Christ it will grow and it is possible to become so firmly rooted in Him that nothing the world throws at you will make you sway. You will know that you are blessed and highly favored despite any circumstance.

You remind me of David who was in the middle of a battle. He could have been killed at any time. Yet he wrote Psalm 118.

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

I often praise God when bad things happen, if only because I know things could always be worse.
