Great video. Look at today’s teenagers texting one another all the time. But most really have no close friends. Technology has replaced building relationships and friendships. When I was a child I spent time outside playing with and interacting with other kids. Today kids are by themselves sitting in front of Televisions, playing video games, and so on.
I read a Christian book on Men, that quoted in studies that 90% of American men over age 40, have no close personal friends. That’s scary. Because I know that is true for myself. Even though I have co workers I talk to every day and I attend Church weekly. My ex-wife is the same way. All our time and energy has been going into taking care of children and work. Then one day I realize I needed to slow down and stop spending time and money on things. Then use that time to start getting to know my neighbors and co-workers better. Start building stronger relationships with other people.
How can we do Jesus work if we are not communicating with one another.

Hey thank you for that response, :-). I am actually a teenager, 16, and I too am tired of constant cell phone use. All of my friends know that if they want to talk on the phone with me they call my home phone, if they have something to say that is Important to tell me right then then they call my cell phone.

Hey what does the rest of you guys think?

Brandon Maddux :-)

You have nailed it on the head. Our children are over weight, sluggish, and do not know how to play outside all due to computer games, t.v. and parents that find it easier to allow these babysitters instead of joining their children in play and to encourage new friendships with other children.

Thanks again for another encouraging response... in an attempt to start applying what I said in this video I have drastically limited my use of Facebook.com, eventually I will stop using it altogether.

You might want to read my newest post and watch another one of my videos called, It's About Time. Visit My Blog

does anyone else have any response to this post?

Thanks,
Brandon Maddux

Hi

I live in UK but basically the same problem.

Many years ago my wife and I read a brilliant book called (If I remember right) Freedom From Clutter. Wonderful book. We de-cluttered our lives and have lived more simply ever since.

Things tend to creep up on us so we have to have purges from time to time.

There is so much in modern life that we don't need. We have to resist the consumerist pressures of our society.

Keep it up

Magic,

Good presentation, we all could live a more simple life. Although it must be a choice we make and not one the government makes for us. If B.H. Obama has his way we will be all be living a simple life, but not by choice.
