I was taking my little sister back home, which is about an hour from where I live. I had a half of tank of gas. I was sure it would get me there and back. I wasn't counting on the delay on the interstate which held me up about an hour. When I dropped my sister off I only had 1/8th of a tank of gas which meant it took me over a 1/4 tank to get there. I didn't know what I was going to do on the way back. I had $5 in my bank account and no cash. I left my mom's praying to God that he would get me home without running out. I had faith with all my heart that he was going to, because I knew he could. I realized after about 30 minutes back out on the interstate I was going in the wrong direction. I was headed south when I was suppose to be going north. Traffic was still bad and it was a mile to the next exit. I was sitting on empty. I turned around and headed back north. All the way me and my little girl praising God singing little children's songs about Jesus. Finally I decided it was time to stop and get gas. I pulled off the interstate at the next exit. I was below empty and still had about 60 miles to go. I stopped at the first store. Then I thought to myself I need to go across the street to one of the other gas stations, because I don't know about all gas stations but the one that I had stopped at they charge a $1 to do debit (which is put back on your card) but I still would have only been able to get $4 in gas at the time. Then I felt the Lord telling me to just go in this store. So I went in. I got up to the counter and told the lady I only had $5 in the bank would I be able to get $5 worth of gas or would I have to get $4. The dollar may have not done much but I was trying to go 60 miles and had no gas. While she was asking another associate the man next to me in line threw $5 on the counter and said there you go it might not get you too far depending on where you are going. When I told him where I was going he said I'm headed there too that won't get you far here's you another $5 and put another $5 on the counter. I was amazed. I called my mom and told her what happened. She was very happy, but after asking where I was she said you still have a long way to get there I figured you be half way there by now. I said well at least I know I'll get there because God allowed me to go the wrong way so he could put me there at that place and time. I knew he would get me home! Just remember when things aren't going the way you want them to sometimes God has alternate plans for you so just take a minute to stop and listen. |
Just when I thought I was going to get some housework done! lol That's a MOST AWESOME story to read first thing this morning, praise God livinnfaith, God is good!
Well I got a few minutes before coffee is ready...gas stories....lol...heres one.
My daughter, her son, and I were driving home from California and we were Alberta bound. We were praising God, talking about the LORD, and just having a good time, when I looked down at the fuel gauge, whoops! I forgot to fuel up!
We were in Montana, and yep, theres a bit more country side then California, and a whole lot less gas stations.
I took a look at the gps, and we were around 40-50 miles from Butte. I said to my daughter, you better get prayin! YOu better get prayin for the Lord to supernaturally fill our tank, or for the Lord to send some angels to start pushin us, or you better get prayin for a DIESEL station, (my car runs on diesel, and fat chance we are going to that)
Well we are prayin, and the tank is gettin thinner, so I come up with a plan, for if and when we run out of fuel, shes to stay in the car with her son, I will hitchhike, and be back with fuel. She didn't like that plan...lol
Well the car starts sputtering...I throw it into neutral, because I know what happens if you let it go dry, you have to reprime it, and this newer car, it might not be easy...the car is still moving, likely being pushed by angels...and we round this curve in the road....and theres this big old sign!!
Its a gas station sign, and it says at the bottom DIESEL...praise God , but its another mile or so, maybe two...well the highway is sloped downhill a bit praise God! so we drift some more, until I see the underpass. But the gas station and the little iddy biddy town is on the otherside, and there is a underpass and so you have to go under the underpass, and I can see the town, and its likely another mile or so. While we take the exit, and darn I have to break, to make the left turn, but we are still moving! slowly but moving, then I have to make a right turn, no need to break, going too slow...and theres the gas station, likely a city block away, and the car stops!
Well heres this old gas station, and this little iddy biddy window on the side...this young man comes running out of the station, throws a tow rope in the back of his truck, and comes and tows us to the pumps. lol I seen you coming he said! And seen ya stop! lol God is good all the time!
thank YOU LORD for that test of faith, and happiness in knowing YOU are with us, and YOU go before us.
