Exclamation The Bible Chapter That Disproves Many Popular Christian Beliefs

In light of both overwhelming and astonishing evidence that we have finally succeeded in bringing the world close to destruction,I read again the Book of Revelation and I was surprised to discover so many popular beliefs taught in many churches, debunked in just one chapter.I'll re-print the entire chapter and then in capitol letters make brief mention of the false teachings the verses disprove.

Revelation 20

The Thousand Years

1 I saw an angel come down from heaven, carrying the key to the deep pit and a big chain. 2He chained the dragon for a thousand years. It is that old snake, who is also known as the devil and Satan. 3Then the angel threw the dragon into the pit. He locked and sealed it, so that a thousand years would go by before the dragon could fool the nations again. But after that, it would have to be set free for a little while.

4 I saw thrones, and sitting on those thrones were the ones who had been given the right to judge. I also saw the souls of the people who had their heads cut off because they had told about Jesus and preached God's message.("DON'T WORRY ALL CHRISTIANS WILL GO TO HEAVEN BEFORE THE TRIBULATION") They were the same ones who had not worshiped the beast or the idol, and they had refused to let its mark be put on their hands or foreheads. They will come to life and rule with Christ for a thousand years.

5-6These people are the first to be raised to life, and they are especially blessed and holy. The second death has no power over them. They will be priests for God and Christ and will rule with them for a thousand years. No other dead people were raised to life until a thousand years later.("OF COURSE ALL CHRISTIANS GO TO HEAVEN IMMEDIATELY WHEN THEY DIE.THERE IS NO WAITING PERIOD.")

Satan Is Defeated

7At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be set free. 8He will fool the countries of Gog and Magog, which are at the far ends of the earth, and their people will follow him into battle. They will have as many followers as there are grains of sand along the beach, ("ALL THOSE WHO ARE CHOSEN TO LIVE WITH CHRIST DURING HIS 1000 YEAR REIGN ON EARTH WILL BE CHRISTIANS WHO HAVE BEEN GRANTED SALVATION") 9and they will march all the way across the earth. They will surround the camp of God's people and the city that his people love. But fire will come down from heaven and destroy the whole army.("OF COURSE ONCE YOU ARE SAVED YOU WILL LIVE FOREVER BECAUSE YOU CAN NEVER LOSE YOUR SALVATION") 10Then the devil who fooled them (IF YOU FLEE FROM SATAN HE CAN NOT DO ANY HARM TO YOU") will be thrown into the lake of fire and burning sulfur. He will be there with the beast and the false prophet, and they will be in pain day and night forever and ever.("THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ETERNAL PUNISHMENT IN HELL, DON'T BE SILLY")

The Judgment at the Great White Throne

11 I saw a great white throne with someone sitting on it. Earth and heaven tried to run away, but there was no place for them to go. 12I also saw all the dead people standing in front of that throne. Every one of them was there, no matter who they had once been. Several books were opened, and then the book of life was opened. The dead were judged by what those books said they had done.("WORKS AND SIN PLAY NO ROLE IN SALVATION,GOD ACCEPTS US REGARDLESS OF WHAT WE HAVE DONE DURING OUR LIVES") 13The sea gave up the dead people who were in it, and death and its kingdom also gave up their dead. Then everyone was judged by what they had done.(WHY DOES THIS KEEP DISAGREEING WITH MY MINISTER? I DON'T LIKE THIS CHAPTER) 14Afterwards, death and its kingdom were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15Anyone whose name wasn't written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.(THIS IS HORRIBLE! I DON'T WANT TO EVEN BELIEVE IN ETERNAL HELL.I THINK I'M GOING TO STOP READING THE BIBLE AND JUST LISTEN TO HAPPY TALK FEEL GOOD WARM AND FUZZY SERMONS FROM NOW ON)

Hello brother frank.

I would like to know why you think that verse (20:9) teaches loss of salvation?

God Bless

That's good Dr Frank, did you see the part where there are evil people still alive and living outside the walls of New Jerusalem?

Re 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Re 22:15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Perhaps they are in the lake.

CK, I think Dr. Frank agrees with you (unless I am misreading). He seems to state that Revelation is a refutation of the thought that .("THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN ETERNAL PUNISHMENT IN HELL, DON'T BE SILLY") I believe the quotes indicate what the book of Revelation is refuting.

I think eternal judgment is very real. I am just struck by DF's assertion that there are things we have not nailed down yet with which I agree. Like the God head. I am more than ready to accept all the scriptures reveal, when they are revealed.
