Heaven
If we die and go to heaven please explain that heaven is going to be burned by fire? How is this possible?
Deu 10:14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens [is] the LORD'S thy God, the earth [also], with all that therein [is].
Can you explain the heaven of heavens?
MANY BIBLE PASSAGES TEACH THAT HEAVENS IS PLURAL NOT SINGULAR.
2Cr 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven.
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
1Ki 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?
Can you explain what is being said here ? I thought there was only one heaven according to churches teaching?
2Pe 3:5 They deliberately ignore this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago, and an earth formed out of water and by means of water,
2Pe 3:6 through which the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.
2Pe 3:7 But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist have been stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
Do all those who died and went to heaven get burned up with heaven ?
Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
What happens to the people in heaven when it passes away ?
WITH THESE VERSES I AM TRYING TO SHOW THE FALSE TEACHING OF DIEYING AND GOING TO HEAVEN!!
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
DYING AND GOING TO HEAVEN IS A FABLE TAUGHT BY THE MODERN CHURCHES.

| | Re: Heaven How many heavens are there and what is the third heaven Paul speaks of in 2 Corinthians 12: The Hebrew word for “heavens” is shamayim, it is in a plural form, meaning “heights,” “elevations.” It is found in the first verse of the Bible (Genesis 1:1; 2:1). The Bible teaches in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, he did not make another heaven after this time. The phrase “heavens and earth” are used to indicate the whole universe (Genesis 1:1; Jeremiah 23:24; Acts 17:24). According to the Jewish tradition from the Bible there were three heavens. All are attributed to God as the creator. Psalm 102:25 “Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.” There are several other words used in the Hebrew, the word marom is also used (Psalms 68:18; 93:4; 102:19, etc.) as equivalent to shamayim. Hebrew galgal, literally a “wheel,” is rendered “heaven” in Psalms 77:18 (RSV, “whirlwind”). Hebrew shahak, is translated “sky” (Deuteronomy 33:26; Job 37:18; Psalms 18:11), plural “clouds” (Job 35:5; 36:28; Psalms 68:34, “heavens”), referring to the firmament. The Bible speaks of three heavens not 7 and these are not dimensions). The first being our immediate atmosphere, the second is outer space as far as it stretches, and the third is the place where God himself dwells. What Jesus called the “Father's house.” From How many heavens are there and what is the third heaven Paul speaks of in 2 Corinthians 12

John 3 13 is such clear scripture.
No man has ascended up to heaven.
To say we go to heaven when we die is a fable an old wives tale, that totally denies what John teaches.
We know that scripture must agree with scripture so can you die and go to heaven?
To understand heavens as a plural and not singular we have to start in Genesis.
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:4 These [are] the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
shamayim
Pronunciation
shä·mah'·yim (Key)
Part of Speech
masculine noun
Root Word (Etymology)
from an unused root meaning to be lofty
TWOT Reference
2407a
heaven, heavens, sky
a) visible heavens, sky
1) as abode of the stars
2) as the visible universe, the sky, atmosphere, etc
b) Heaven (as the abode of God)
Here we see differant uses of the same word, notice the same word was translated in differant ways
AV — heaven 398, air 21,
So why did the translaters say air 21 times for the same word?
Job 14:12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens [be] no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
Job says the heavens will be no more!!
My point is it takes much study to learn what is being said.
Outline of Biblical Usage 1) the vaulted expanse of the sky with all things visible in it
a) the universe, the world
b) the aerial heavens or sky, the region where the clouds and the tempests gather, and where thunder and lightning are produced
c) the sidereal or starry heavens
2) the region above the sidereal heavens, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings
You see in the Greek it has differant meanings.
Mat 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
This the same word the fowls of the air=heavens .
Why did they translate the same word in a differant way?
Mat 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of .......the air ........[have] nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay [his] head.
Same word!
Mat 16:2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, [It will be] fair weather: for the..... sky.... is red.
Mat 16:3 And in the morning, [It will be] foul weather to day: for the....... sky ..........is red and lowring. O [ye] hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the........ sky........; but can ye not [discern] the signs of the times? ..
Luk 12:56 [Ye] hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the...... sky..... and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
Hbr 11:12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, [so many] as the stars of the ......sky..... in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
Sky=heaven, same Greek word.

If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. (Jn 14:2-3)
Where was the Father’s house where Jesus was going? Answer - heaven

"And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven." John 3:13 | I may have asked this question before, if so please excause the faulty memory of an old man, But I believe that John 3:13 deals with a conversation Jesus is having with Nicodemus and is telling him that "No man has ascended up to heaven except Him (The Son of man) that being the case where did Elijah go? (2 Kings 2:11) Also if that is the case are we to assume that this conversation takes place after the resurrection as I don't recall reading where Jesus ascended to heaven from this earth prior to his resurrection.
Also excuse a senile old man for being confused with the statement Christ makes when John adds the statement "and is in Heaven now"[NKJV] How can He be speaking to Nicodemus here on earth and be in Heaven at the same time??....Ray |

And says about the italicised bit that “some manuscripts add this phrase”. Of course Jesus, as the Second Person of the Trinity is always in heaven. Where did Elijah go? Good question. But as heaven was closed and guarded by a cherubim with a fiery sword presumably not into heaven.

10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. Ray, my take on it is that Jesus is talking to Nicodemus on spiritual things and our ability to learn them. In verse 13 He was referring to Himself as Creator who knows all things of earth and heaven(s). He is speaking as the only man to come down from heaven to do this and then return to heaven. As a rabbi of the Jewish nation, Nicodemus was unable to even accept teachings about physical and natural laws from Christ, so he was unable to accept spiritual ones from the only One who knew it all and came down to teach us. Therein lies the difference with Elijah and Enoch and even Paul's trip to Heaven or John' vision. Jesus descended to ascend again. Quote: |

| It is my understanding that this part of the verse simply points to the natural abode of Jesus and affirms His intimate knowledge and ability then to speak of spiritual things.
But what is your understanding of it? Peggy.
