Default Power filled believers

Let me start with a little back ground information.

In the old testament the children of God decerned the will of God by casting the Urim and Thummim.

The Urim and Thummim were tools given by the Lord for soliciting and obtaining the will of Yahweh by His priests, and sometimes His kings.

You will find the very last time these were used was in the book of acts, chapter 1, when they were used to decern the replacement of Judas. Mathias was numbered with the other 11.

We all know Acts 2 is when cloven tounges of fire fell upon the crowd in the upper room and the lots were no longer needed.

In the book of 1Cor we find that the same spirit that fell in the upper room in the book of Acts gives out other gifts than just the cloven tounges of fire.

These gifts include:
The Revelation Gifts
  • Word of Wisdom
  • Word of Knowledge
  • Discerning of spirits
The Power Gifts
  • Gifts of healing
  • Workers of miracles
  • Gifts of faith
The Vocal (inspiration) Gifts
  • Divers kinds of tounges
  • Interpretation of tounges
  • Prophecy

According to the scriptures these gifts are for ALL spirit-filled believers.
Acts 2:17 / 1 Cor 12:1, 7 / Gal 3:28
You don't have to be baptized in the Holy Ghost either (Old testament examples prove this) (Matt 2:12, 13; 10:1,7,8)

The Bible Has 66 books. At the end of 65 of the books it says "Amen."
There is only one book (Acts) that dosen't say "Amen." Could that be because its the only book that hasn't been completed yet? Are we still living out the book of Acts? I think so. As one reads the book of Acts; one would see that the gifts of the Spirit were very functional. One would even find some prophets in this book.

There is a lot of dispute among the body of Christ as to whether all the Prophets are past away now. I can't say that I believe this. Let me also just say that there is a difference between walking in the Office of a Prophet and one that would prophesy. Just because one prophesys dosen't make that person a prophet.

All may prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.
The book of 1 Thess 5:20; It states for us to despise not Prophecies.
Also to test all things...Hold fast to what is good.

It is important to know the voice of the Lord for yourself..Knowing your God will allow you to decern whether the prophecy be of Him or not.
The whole purpose of Prophecy is to encourage, edify, and exhort one another. God always deals in Love and gentleness, Should one ever hear a prochecy that would allow room for condemnation or tearing one down,. Its easy then to know Thats Not God!.

When one brings forth a word in the Name of the Lord. Don't be quick to judge. Hear the word ; try the word. See whether it be of God or not. Ask God to reveal to you; God always does.

Wow, cool. I agree that we completely ignore the baptism of the Holy spirit. John says He comes to baptize with water yet Jesus comes to baptize with fire, or the Holy Spirit. Why do so many christian stop at the baptism of water? They never get baptized by the Holy Spirit. I have noticed that most of these are the ones who find fault with all the talents. Thank you

Awesome post...
I know the voice of God when he has spoken to me through the holy spirit.

I have wittnessed someone prophesying three times in my life. The message was the same even though each took place in two different churches. The first time I was really confused because I didn't know what was going on and it was hard to see or hear the person. But the second and third times I was so scared I wanted to leave. I know the enemy well and I felt that he was within reach during the last two examples of prophesying. The most recent one I actually did leave church early because there is only so much that I can handle. The message was one of hope and love, but I still felt uncomfortable. Yeah I know I am probably wierd, but I can live with that.
It seems a bit curious to me that the other denominations of christianity don't practice the gifts of the spirit???

Again great post

Lewsim3, the truth is, if man did everything the Lord said to do than man would have no control in their life.......they would have to give their life completely to God...and not many people are willing to do that.....
as for me...i choose to give Christ all control of my life....sometimes i fall (i am still in the flesh) but try to let Christ live through me......in doing so i need to leave the precepts of man behind.....and there are not many people that will NEVER do that.

The will of God to man is gift. Only the will of God is free from being in toll to dis-concerning the values of good, perfect, splendid, understandable habit.

The truth is, every misbehavior is manipulation.

The gifts and powers of the great and lovely spirit of God are by the side of the cherisher of Christ, if it be necessary then the devout may gain the gift.

The will of God is peace. As for Jesus' concern with the elder messengers of doctrine of His day, yes, was striking, they are messengers of the devil to rebuke the wellness and attributes of people for their own glory by being powerful to-wards their ambitions without a fault for them to attend to, and yet their ambition is devilish for their own manipulative greed.

The will of God is plentious, then if it be so, then will of it comforts and is intriguing and impressive to the people who are willingly true bearers.

No one is free from sin except if Father allows, there are so many people who would not be subject to God like necessary and this is why many sin, because the truth and lovable intrigue of God is not fully understood or yearned.

The will of God is not to be questioned, even if the world may have bad habituals to itself and even if there is chaos and friction to the planet earth material because even if there is bad purposes with people, God can still find mercy to them as they be in their own mess and the world planet material corruption is caused by the impure status of mankind and the earth only responds to purge itself from it's misery.

There are less good ambitions then there are desolating ambitions. Be careful.

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
I became a Christian in 1970, living in Christ for 24 years until I received the Holy Spirit's power at a time when my family was being horribly harassed by a crazed neighbor. In Dec., 1994, great power and the gifts of His Spirit came upon me. Since then, my relationship with Jesus, the Father, and the Spirit has been dynamic, one I recommend to every believer who dares step out in faith!
