Godliness with contentment is great gain! 1Ti 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
Many search for the elusive state of happiness.
Depression pills sell in the billions.
Everbody takes drugs, boose, cigarettes, pills, to try to deal with this horrible mess we call life.
If you stand in the variety store for awhile you will see an endless procession of people spending their last dollar on lottery tickets.
Yet if you would follow a few simple verses your life will change overnight for the better. Sounds easy , it is.
Hideing in the middle of the Bible in the old testament:
Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.
If you can keep your thoughts on God you will get perfect peace.
Your conscience mind must be kept in control!
Of coarse it takes practice.
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
So the first step is to memorize as much of the Bible as you can.
By doing this it takes your mind off your problems.
Try to read at least three chapters of the Bible each day old testament and new.
This is a wonderful trick to keep your mind off your problems, repeat Psalms,
go along humming or singing a gospel song or Hymn.
Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
If you do these things their is no room for worry.
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
By repeating scripture you can overcome any situation.
Phl 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I would like someone to take this challenge to repeat this verse over and over for 21 days and watch the change in your attitude.
The scriptures can transform our thoughts if you let them!
Phl 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content.
What simple powerful words.
If you learn to be content with what you have and not want anything or covet you will gain peace.
May God bless your study of His Holy Bible |
