a friend told me that he gave his wife to God,Okay ? He then asked me to explain to her why he gave his wife to God !! I was like I dont know why you gave her to God other than God gave her to you and your giving her back to him(but shes still gonna be your wife) Ive looked for script. about giving your loved one to God and loving her as God loves the church.But does anyone have any other script. that would back up why we give our loved ones(Wives) back to God. A little insight they are going and have been going through some tough maritial problems,but she said ever since he told her that a week ago he seems like a new person.if he cant explain to her why how script. or personal opinion would you do that,maybe I can help her understand more of were hes coming from.I hope this makes sense !!! I just really want to explain in terms she can understand why he did it. Ive searched and come up with not very much.

The information which you've given is rather vague; and other than knowing that your friend and his wife are having problems this is all the more we know. What I believe we do sometimes when there are problems in a relationship is to try and fix them or the person in our own strength, our own way and the things often times which we think need to be dealt with when God has a whole different plan. We can get in the way of what God wants to do by acting outside of His will and trying to do things without His guidance which is dead works and can create a lot of unnecessary turmoil. With this is mind "give his wife back to God," could it be to put his wife back in God's hands where she belonged in the first place? God bless!

No such thing, but here are two scenerios.
Christ said love your wife as He Jesus loves the church, in that he gave his life for the church. Other than to say that he is doing it in his own mind to rid himself of the responsibility of taking care of her or be willing to die dfor her, It is easier to say, here God, you die for her, not me.


This is the other side of the coin! I like this better
What may be is that he relinquished possession of her, which is biblical, 'have a wife but treat her as if you were not married. Inadvertnatly he is now free of being possessive.

It is best to let the bible guide you and be careful of unbiblical concepts.

Are you sure he did not speak with a lisp and tell you he had given his LIFE to God?

Here is my thoughts on this. When a man gives his wife or children to God he is saying in effect I don't know how to love her perfectly. By giving family, especially the wife to God you are saying I want my wife to know perfect love. Also Chyrist sacrificed Himself for the church. In our homes our church begins with our wives if we are leading the way Christ did. Be giving her to God he is in effect telling her I will sacrifice my love for you that you may know true and perfect love through me by God. It is a beautiful gesture and one I hope he is taking seriously. God has a habit ( for lack of a better term) of taking what is offered to Him when It is done out of love.

That makes alot of sense,and I believe it wil be on the terms that he can understand what you are saying,Thanks & thanks to everyone who made there opinion.
