Now, because God has awaken me from my slumber, it is hard to trust teachers, preachers. I lean more to the Holy Spirit teaching me and confirming what is taught. It is still fustrating to read from the Bible and not understand some things...but in time, if I wait for the Holy Spirit..in His time not mine the truth is revealed. Once the Holy Spirit confirms a truth, I protect it and do not let satan(through unbelievers etc.) steal it from me.
It is an exciting journey that I am on with my Lord and Savior!
For years I listened to the wrong teaching...and I am still in the process of filtering a lot of it out. I am cautious! But open to hear from others...and I wait for the Holy Spirit to confirm it! |
Studying and learning the scriptures can be exciting as well as very rewarding. If one had to choose 4 roads down which to travel. Knowing that only one of the 4 roads was the correct road , in order to reach the correct destination. Wouldn't you or anyone else want to know , without a doubt, that you have chosen the correct road to go down ?
We plan out so many things in our lives. Our finances, our jobs, our health, our plans for a vacation. We plan these things out with the greatest of care. Yet, many do not plan out their own salvation with trembling and fear.
We can choose the long road, or the wrong road, or the road that goes in a total opposite direction from the correct destination. Or we can choose the short road , which is the easy road and the correct road from which we will reach the correct destination. Now, when I say easy road, I do not mean spiritually easy, but easy from the point of view, that it gives you peace of mind. Stress makes your destination the more difficult road to go down. Stress comes about when we try to put our burdens upon our own sholders.
When we do not ask God to help us and work with us, we burden the trip with our own measly abilities. Most of us are lazy, and I am no exception for the most part. But can we aford to be lazy ?
Sometimes we put forth a great effort, but our effort is meaningless, because our effort is to please ourselves and not God.
There are many who teach the Word of God. From the many denominations , or the TV evangilists. The variety is almost endless. Yet , from the Word of God , there is only one road to go down . Either something is righteous or it is unrighteous with God. No matter what the subject we discuss on these forums. It is either light or it is darkness. It is either the truth or it is a lie.
The Word tells us to "work". Either work with our hands the things that are good, so that you may give to those who have need. Or, work out our salvation with trembling and fear. There are good works or there are evil works. There is no inbetween !
Search the scriptures to see if those things are so or not ! Don't be lazy ! The effort is rewarding.
