Default The Crucifiction

I have always observed Good Friday as the day of the Crucifiction of our Lord and the following Sunday as the day He rose. He was in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights and this does not work out from Friday to Sunday.

I have heard that the Jews have a weekly Sabbath (Saturday) plus an annual Sabbath which 2000 years ago fell on a Thusday. The Crucifiction took place the day before the Sabbath so making Wednesday the actual day of our Lords Crucifiction, allowing 3 days and nights.

Is this the answer?

I think he was crucified on Wednesday and risen by the beginning of the first day of the week which was at sundown on Saturday evening.

Roy Reinhold does a great job of explaining this position:

Prophecy Truths -- The Good Friday Myth, Jesus Died on a Wednesday!!

I do firmly believe what you are stating. However, from evidence by the date of your post you will get no one to give you a 'good' explanation. Because they can't believe what you stated and continue in their beliefs and traditions and doctrines and worship and dogmas and on and on and on.

I would like a discussion on this myself and with people of an open mind about it.

If one can't defend a belief, don't talk about it.

Where in the scriptures is it said that he was in the tomb three days and nights? Does it not merely say three days? Friday night, all day Saturday & Sunday morning...
