What She Wants
It was Sunday evening, one of the most important evenings ever for Karl and the band. Amber had escaped from Summer Street by telling her mother she was going be studying late and not to bother her.
I’ll tell love that everything will go bust. And you will marry and be divorced many times. And the world will carry on as the seasons go. Kingdoms rise and fall. And but we will continue to preach the gospel. And this United States will prevail to keep the lamps burning and give hope the world.
Mayflower, what God may bring.
And I will see you again and you will be the teenager I met and we will be together forever. But Heaven and Earth will pass away and crush down all the devils and dogs and slimmy things of the world under foreve.
I used to work in a race track, horse race track. I would sometimes place a bet and would either win, place or show. It reminds me of religion. I say it with concern. The subject is so elusive. It’s hard to focus and explain the problem. It involves some my individuals who perhaps believe earnestly they are doing the right thing.
You are either there to win and inherit the kingdom or you are there because of the place, the impressive buildings and classrooms for children and gymnasiums for teenagers to play ball, or you are there for the show, the performance, the music and pomp, like going to a theater, you put on your best clothes and shoes, to be entertained by God’s word, open a subject, explore it, forget it and on to something else.
Saul of 2Samuel was impressive in stature, a real handsome man, respected by his father and all the people. He was anointed by God to be king over Israel. Curious for the moment, the first horse man in Apocalypses was on an impressive white stallion. Going on to conquer and a crown was given to him and bow.
The religion that we have today is impressive. A lot of money and real estate in bound up in them. King David typifies true religion, forsaken, troubled, lonely, trial, and tribulation. True religion is not attractive. Sacrifices have to be made, but is faithful. While Saul was impressive, he was a violent man, with murder in his heart.
The same hate the Pharisee had for Jesus and murder. The second horse in Apocalpolis is a red horse and it has murder in its heart. To kill the opposition, little or great. We covet but we don’t have, so we wage war to get what we want. The second rider and horse is about ‘Get me what I want’.
The Pharisee liked the show. They wanted the attention on the market place and banquets. They were surely not there to serve, they liked to be served.
The third horse and horseman is about want and need and the way of get. Jesus told the Laodicea church, you are poor, naked, blind, miserable and wretched. Spiritual famine cause by deception.Saul finally died on his own sword, he killed himself. His poverty must have been great. Death follows poverty and misery.
Before a fall there’s pride. Why is this pride so elusive? Its’ sticky. You can’t touch it because it’s like leaven. A little leaven lifts the whole lump. Since we can’t confront sin, it just grows and touches everyone.
There’s a hair of the devil in this pride. Since we don’t want to obey God we invent our own rules and gospels and arguments. Jesus said, ‘in vain you worship me teaching as doctrine the commandments of men'.
Somewhere along the line we decide for ourselves what we will believe and what commandments we are going to obey and which we are going to overlook. Not only do we form our own rules, we want others to worship us with our rules instead of God and his rules. So we worship God in vain. May you blessed and may God triumph forever and ever and have all the praise and all the glory. Amen.
Sometime the gospel is not a simple matter as it seems. The devil usually and sometime makes his attack on the inside to bring down the whole tent on the outside. There as a passage in the old testament where the Lords calls for the men who will be able to go to war. Sometimes the Lord like here has he decided to go to war. There will be times when not everyone will accept or hear his or our message. In this passage the Lord calls his first troops and the first to oppose him was his own natural family. It say such as,
[13 And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him.14 And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach15 and have authority to cast out demons.16 He appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter);17 James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James (to whom he gave the name Boanerges, that is, Sons of Thunder);18 Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean,19 and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.]
20 Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat.21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying,"He is out of his mind."
Sometime the worst trouble to progress come from those within in our own board meeting. The gossip, the reviling, the intrigue inside a group or organization. And our all-knowing God understands this as he exhorts us to love each other and have concern and patience for each other and in fact to the extreme as wash each others feet and really take care of another. So the real war is to fight the war within with love before we can go outside and fight the war with those outside.
Jesus said a house divided upon itself cannot stand. Is there anything we can do to further the peace within? Paul says that in all times according for what we can do work for peace among us. And we remember when we loose a battle is because of collapse from the inside. Many a coach will always teach teamwork in order so that we win at any game. May you be blessed. Amen.
