Who Gives Kudos:

How much bounce do you have in your game...?

Hi friends. It's 3:36 PM on my town basking in the afternoon sun. How was you day? Is it about quitting time for you? The fact of the matter is that diligence is something but sometimes not everything. Sometimes a quiet time with the Lord is order.

I became ill today and I decided to think about this matter of the Lord and a quiet time with him. I had havoc trouble today from all directions. It's open season on this Pancho today! But I felt better now. I remember psalm 41 that says such as:

["...1 Blessed is the one who considers the poor!
In the day of trouble the LORD delivers him;
2the LORD protects him and keeps him alive;
he is called blessed in the land;
you do not give him up to the will of his enemies.
3The LORD sustains him on his sickbed;
in his illness you restore him to full health.

4As for me, I said, "O LORD, be gracious to me;
heal me, for I have sinned against you!"
5My enemies say of me in malice,
"When will he die, and his name perish?"
6And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words,
while his heart gathers iniquity;
when he goes out, he tells it abroad.
7All who hate me whisper together about me;
they imagine the worst for me.

8They say, "A deadly thing is poured out on him;
he will not rise again from where he lies."
9Even my close friend in whom I trusted,
who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me.
10But you, O LORD, be gracious to me,
and raise me up, that I may repay them!

11By this I know that you delight in me:
my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.
12But you have upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in your presence forever.

13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting!

Amen and Amen..."]

I like to think that once in a while I like to be those that consider the poor and weak. When I talk to my God, I ask him- Have we touched someone's life today? Have we brought comfort and direction to a straying friend? Psalm 23. And certainly my God, you God, our God has been good to us. But do we have

bounce in our game when things don't go our way? When we are not served our brand of tea? Or type of musik? Today I thought it was the end. But somehow the spirit came back. The joy to help came back. And we are back!

Take a few moments with God in your busy schedule and just meditate for an instant that it is going to be allright. The deal is going to come through. We will make that budget work. We will get another job. Or that dreadful desease has the Lord agaist it.

But sometime the Lord just want to see if you have bounce in your game! May you be blessed. Amen.

How the Joy wanes out quicly...!

First come the weekend and saturday and sunday with rememberance of friday, and then I have a strong monday, but then on tuesday, it is almost all used up and we are moaning and complaining again. I usually get up pretty early in the morning why the pressure of the day is not yet on. And I marvel at God and his deliverance. And that's the segment we want to write about today- the deliverance of the captives, you and me to experience life and freedom and fulfill our most dear dreams.

In these passage, two women visit the empty tomb, meet Jesus and the rest of the resurrection- Easter story. We've gotten accustomed to call it Easter, but it is a misnomer. Easter means something else. But for all practical purposes it it the Easter story and one of the most important and notable accounts of the gospel. From this resurrection incident we will deribe all our hope and faith in the gospel, believing that Jesus indeed rose from the dead. It is quite curious why some believe and some scoff at the idea.

God in Jesus commissions them and us to preach the gospel. And in someplace in Matthew Jesus say that all authority has been given to him in heaven and on earth. And that should give is comfort that the devil world will not be able to barrier the gospel to proceed to be preached onto the end of the earth and for all ages to come. And even in the old testament the people were exhorted to believe God for he warns them and us like this:

["...11 "For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off.12 It is not in heaven, that you should say,‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?'13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say,‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?'14 But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.

15 "See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil.16 If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.17 But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them,18 I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess.19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,20 loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them...]

God told them and us the Jesus is our life and length of days, that we may dwell in the promised land, the kingdom of heaven. And it is so wonderful to go over this. Life is not all about anxieties, cares and concerns and errand to make, but to have a quiet, blissful rememberance of it has already been accomplised on the cross. The only thing left to do is to live a life worthy of that hope that we have on the Easter story- the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. May you be blessed. Amen.

Is the spiritual traffic getting heavy on your lane today...?

Sometimes when we get up from bed in the morning somedays, you just know the spiritual traffic is heavy. You can't find you shoe or your tie. Or you just don' feel like yourself today. Jesus had such a day in Mark 11:12-19 it says,

[ 12 On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. 13 And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14And he said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard it.

15 And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. 16And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. 17And he was teaching them and saying to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers." 18And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. 19 And when evening came they went out of the city.]

Jesus, things were just not with him that day. He hungered and there was just no fruit. And it is certainly a message for us, fig trees. Are there seasons or days when we just not feeling spiritual? The bible is just where you left it who know when? And a darkness begins to fall upon you.

Suddenly we don't have communion with God this morning. And Jesus, all knowing God, well he did something about it, he went into the Temple and drove out those were robbing him of the fruit there- the money changers. But what if Jesus was to visit us suddenly today? Would he find fruit?

Sometime I feel like, why should I write a blog today, perhaps we had enough? And I begin to think that way and it is not good for me spiritually or materially. Proverbs says that a little rest and little crossing of the arm, a little time to sleep and suddenly poverty comes upon you- you suddenly don't have

communion with God-the worst kind of povery- spiritual famine and poverty. So when the dismal begins to crowd you day and lane, take a moment to pray and think and get back on the team of what God has put you to do. Don't let the dust of idleness bring you to poverty. May you be blessed. Amen.

Mission Control we have a problem: A burnout heart...

As we open our bible to Mal. 1 it says, it begins to open the subject of a poor and luke-warm heart for the Lord, the following:

6 "A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the LORD of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say, 'How have we despised your name?' 7 By offering polluted food upon my altar. But you say, 'How have we polluted you?' By saying that the LORD's table may be despised. 8 When you offer blind animals in sacrifice, is that not evil? And when you offer those that are lame or sick, is that not evil? Present that to your governor; will he accept you or show you favor? says the LORD of hosts. 9And now entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With such a gift from your hand, will he show favor to any of you? says the LORD of hosts. 10 Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, says the LORD of hosts, and I will not accept an offering from your hand. 11For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts. 12But you profane it when you say that the Lord's table is polluted, and its fruit, that is, its food may be despised. 13But you say, 'What a weariness this is,' and you snort at it, says the LORD of hosts. You bring what has been taken by violence or is lame or sick, and this you bring as your offering! Shall I accept that from your hand? says the LORD. 14Cursed be the cheat who has a male in his flock, and vows it, and yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished. For I am a great King, says the LORD of hosts, and my name will be feared among the nations.

Then we turn to Rev. 2 and it continues on this subject with the following, Jesus addressing the Ephesus church:

1"To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: 'The words of(A) him who holds the seven stars in his right hand,(B) who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

2(C) "'I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but(D) have tested those(E) who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. 3I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up(F) for my name's sake, and you(G) have not grown weary. 4But I have this against you, that you have abandoned(H) the love you had at first. 5Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do(I) the works you did at first. If not,(J) I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. 6Yet this you have: you hate the works of(K) the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7(L) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.(M) To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of(N) the tree of life, which is in(O) the paradise of God.'

They had abandoned their first love for the Lord. It reminds me of the parable of the sower wherer we have the seeds that fell on rocky soil and it is those who receive the good news with joy and singing but then something happens, with the trouble the faith disappears like morning dew in the heat of the day. It bears not fruit. Like the fig tree who had no fruit in season or out of season.

Then we turn our bible to the church at Laodicea and Jesus just has to tell them something stern in the trouble they are in. The account goes as follows:

14"And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: 'The words of the(A) Amen,(B) the faithful and true witness,(C) the beginning of God's creation.

15"'I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot.(D) Would that you were either cold or hot! 16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17(E) For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor,(F) blind, and naked. 18I counsel you(G) to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and(H) white garments so that you may clothe yourself and(I) the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes,(J) so that you may see. 19(K) Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. 20Behold, I stand at the door and(L) knock.(M) If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,(N) I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. 21(O) The one who conquers,(P) I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as(Q) I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22(R) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.'"

This ones were wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. And this things are thing that can happen to me and us. The devil is very agile in bringing in a burn-out situation to our devotion to serve the Lord. And it happens like those at Malachi that we start to offer the Lord our second best devoted heart to his matters. We begin to look at the bible as a perhaps and not a sure certain. And like I said it can happen to me, you or anyone no matter how well grounded on the word we might think we stand. That why we have to pray that

we manage Gods' grace wisely and make the best or our strength. If you leave you bible study until you just had enough of television or your ipod, the devil can move pretty quickly and suddely God's word is an upward climb or a nagging chore that you just have to do but suddenly the spirit or joy is not there. So let's us beware of this phenomenon and fight the trojan horses the devil uses to distract you from your sincere devotion to Christ. May you have a good day. Amen.

So what in it for you this monday morning...

So how is this new monday morning treating you? Do you have the blahs and the monday morning blues? But we shalln't dispair. The kids are off to school, you husband to work and maybe you too are wife and have career and need to get going with the day?

How about you grandma and grandpa? What have you planned for today? What activitiy do you have in mind? You have to be about doing something that produces something? Perhaps realign your expense record and check your bank balance? We have to keep a budget to make it through the end of the month.

How about you kids? Are you looking forward to a new day of leaning at school? School is for preparing you for the future. Study hard, listen to your teacher and do your homework and plus you get to see all your friends.

How about you college Miss or Lad? Do you know how lucky you are to go to college or university? High School days are over and now it's real time and we need to become the best prepared. Knowledge and wisdom are a gift from the Lord. How you live in the future depend on how hard you study today!

And you not least High Schoolers. This phase of life is the real Mccoy test of character. You need good grades to get that college scholarship at graduation. Remember it is not all fun and games. This transitioin is serious and the temptation difficult. But this is the time we need to learn how to deal with

problems and issues and how to do deal and stand up for our priciples. We don't depend on mon and dad like we used to. We kind of sort of on our own. Our parents can follow us here and this is the time to remember all they ever taught us and it time to decide here what kind of person YOU have decide

you want to be. It's time to put a dream for life on the pot and start thawing the slumber and get the
facts of how things really are. But all in al we want to pray to God that he blesses our undertakings and our comings and goings and that he keeps us safe always remembering what we have heard and learned about him. May you have a good day. Amen.

Why we mustn't discourage and have hope...

When we spoke of the blessing the bible promises, we take on the hope that is there in print for us to examine. Since the word is sure and trustworthy, the bible make a royal promises to us. It says in Romans 8:18-21,

["18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time(A) are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19For the creation waits with eager longing for(B) the revealing of the sons of God. 20For the creation(C) was subjected to futility, not willingly, but(D) because of him who subjected it, in hope 21that(E) the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.]

For our walk in this life with its tears and pain is certain to turn into glory. And part of that glory is to know and experience the truth. It continues in Romans 8:22-25, it says,

["22For we know that(A) the whole creation(B) has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have(C) the firstfruits of the Spirit,(D) groan inwardly as(E) we wait eagerly for adoption as sons,(F) the redemption of our bodies. 24For(G) in this hope we were saved. Now(H) hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see, we(I) wait for it with patience.]

We groan more and more to experiece the peace of God. The more we have it, the more we fall in love with it and hunger and crave it. It's so elusive that it only comes when we have the vision and are in the Spirit. And finally in Romans 8:26-27 it says,

["26Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For(A) we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but(B) the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27And(C) he who searches hearts knows what is(D) the mind of the Spirit, because[a] the Spirit(E) intercedes for the saints(F) according to the will of God...]

Sometime we feel confused, and life in God, can become a mystery and we can feel disoriented, but the spirit always knows and always goes. He guide us when we cannot make out our minds figure things and is always faithful and he prompts us into the things of God. So we have glory, hope of peace, and we crave God and his word and finally the spirit guides and inteceeds for us and keep us going in the direction of that promised glory. May you be blessed. Amen.

How does God answer prayers...?

A friend of mine asked me for my advice on a subject and I thought I share it with you. Will God answer every prayer we ask for- if we truly believe? God is sure in his word to answer every prayer if we truly believe, like you say and like the bible says. But it has been my experience that the Lord sometimes snares away you prayer to accomplish his purpose first. Yesterday were invited to the theater and we planned to go and commited this decision to the Lord. But we had some errands to do first and we took care of them and when it came to the last errand I thought this would kill time before the performance since it was stll 2 hours away.

On our way to the third and last errand, the road was blocked and we could not get to where we were going. We dicided to go closer to the theater and find someplace to eat to kill time. And I made a mistake, in a daze I took the wrong route. So we headed closer to the theater, still very early and stopped at a whataburger close to the theater. I was still in a daze and I didn't know where to park and I zip in to a spot near the door and way and behold there were to homeless there just in front of where I parked.

The inevitable happened they asked me for something to eat. And I said I would buy them something to eat. I prefered not give them money, Because I asked them if they wanted something to eat from the store there. So I ordered the combos for them to go. And the snare continued the attandant there was all snared up and kept making mistakes on the order. But finally she got it all right.

And I was glad because there was just enough time to eat before we went to the theater. Our freinds the homeless enjoyed their meal, God took care of them that day and thank me and I said No, thank God he takes care of me too, like everybody else and them agreed and we bidden good-bye. Yes God answers prayer, but like that day, he went to a lot's of steps before we could get to the theater. The performance was great and only 5 bucks to see a classic. It all goes around. May you be blessed. Amen.

Fireside Chat, Candlelit Chat or big text message...?

In this blog we want to Chat about you. We wrtten quite a bit of blogs about different subjects, but we had hoped everything is focused on God and his word and his annoited. Now what about you what have you been doing? In your work, play or idle time what do you think about? Is there something we should know about you? The fact is that there's no one quite like you and you were wonderfully made. God has perfection in all his creation. It just that sometime God leaves some of the parts missing so we can ask him for them to complete us.

What about you life and husband or wife or kids? Aren't they wonderful? May not all the time...Give them time to grow. We all need time to reflect and grow. What have you done today? Have you had lunch? Dinner or Breakfast? How wonderful it is that we have a God that provides for us. Your are unemployed and you lost your job? Have you considered that God wanted it that way to bless you more in the end? You are feeling down you say? Perhaps look intently into the sky and cloud and how they worry not and still in its time they bring rain. So do be down so much. That why I want to write this blog. It's been a while since we talked.

Have you had 'that' talk with you husband and how you have to pray together that God give you strenght to stay together? What about that 'talk' with you son of daugther about how the world really is and that they should plan their life and carefully and not be snared with 'a problem' that is really one of those problem we parent dread for their children. How about you in jail reading this blog in the library or where ever they let you go into the computer, do you know we still love those who are in prison. We hope that when you get out you straighten your life out and pray for a new perspective.

How about you child or children have you had that talk with you mom and dad and told those thing you've been holding out on them? Your mom and dad...well we are only here for a long time but not treat them nicely we need a thankyou once in while. And you grandpa are you just thinking about those trout in the river? You nece not and your knees needs to go to the circus and eat popcorn and have a hot dog with them. They grow up pretty quickly!

And gradma, what are you doing with your life? The Lord may take us home anytime and we need to write a story or record a casset or make a note to your you know who who all this life you may never connected with like we should. So this blog is about you. Perhap I may, you may think this are trivial matters, but this postponed chat should not be postponed any longer. God said tha the spirit of Elijah will bring the hearts of the fathers to the children and the heart of children to the fathers or just as well smite the whole earth with a curse. No don't postpone it no longer and on the way if someone has something against you forgive him or her as well. May you be blessed. Amen.

Our Declaration of Faith...

We decided to fast today. In a previous blog we looked intently into the dark glass bottle and imagined what we saw there. Now reclining on the sofa in the sun-room I looked intently at the blue sky of God's glorious earth. And I just looked and wondered mystified. The only thing I wondered today is that I had to take my father to the bank for some business. I just thought how little my world was. It hadn't occurred to me that perhaps the devil had hold on me today. I decided to think of the little things today and make myself little and be content with that. I felt better thinking that way. I really marveled at how thinking little is good for me. Then I remembered something in Genesis or

Exodus. Moses and the Israelites are trapped between to mountains and red sea. The Egyptians and their troubles pursuing them. The honey moon was over. The great expectations were gone. Fear is on them. As we reflect on this quarter of the year, an election year. Are we still behind our President Obama? Do we criticize him for having an onslaught of problems on himself after he promised some things? Do we think God doesn't see anymore or has departed the land? Ezequiel. Moses had this experience perhaps he and the people thought God had departed the Land. Moses cried to God and God said to him, "Why are crying back to me, raise your staff so the waters will part...!"

Have we put the staff God had given us at our presidents' disposal? How we abandoned our prayers for him? I once went to college game and there were a lot of hoopla and tailgate parties before the game. But when they began to lose the game the fans began to leave the stadium. I was really disappointed at them. By the end of the game most of the people who were their fans had left. In the parable of the sower, there are those who hear the gospel and receive it with joy. But when trouble comes they quickly fall away and there's no fruit in them to harvest. And I just look back and what started to be a dismal day for me of closed door and depression. Well I'm writing this blog. And

this has an extension. Have you recommitted yourself to you wife and children? Or have you come to your Red Sea? Have you put your staff away in a closet? It's time to bring it out again and start believing again that God is a God that delivers. Jesus told Jairus, Do not fear only believe!...Believe for me, our President, Nation, family and an open door for the gospel. May you be blessed. Amen.

Something to really mourn about...

After we wrote our last blog about something for a mourner, we mourned. We put on our best dress for that party and we just didn't quite go anywhere. But I've asked the Lord to make all things anew and really think about something that should really concern us and or make us mourn. Let me show you what I mean. There are some passage that really don't seem ot be addressed to us. These old testament passages are difficut and mysterious again. It seem like if we heard all before or perhaps not. It says,

["8 Then the LORD spoke to Aaron,"Behold, I have given you charge of the contributions made to me, all the consecrated things of the people of Israel. I have given them to you as a portion and to your sons as a perpetual due.9 This shall be yours of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every offering of theirs, every grain offering of theirs and every sin offering of theirs and every guilt offering of theirs, which they render to me, shall be most holy to you and to your sons.10 In a most holy place shall you eat it..."]

This the take where those in the Church think that the gifts should be given to them. Paul certainly did think, this thinking of giving himself to his congregation. He tell them this in 1Thesso. 2 and in Acts 20. He reminded the Church how he and Barnabas worked day and night not be a burden to the brother in the church of that time. Now a days, the tithe and offering is big business. And its' all well. My take is that we should give to thoe who divulge the truth. Jonn say that if anyone comes to you and bring another gospel or another Jesus, you are not greet him, nor bring him into your house nor eat with such.

In Philipians 2:19-, Paul finishes off this thought, he says,

["I hope in the Lord Jesus to send you Timothy to you soon, that I also my be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him, who takes a genuine interest in your welfare. For everyone looks for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ..."]

In the new testament, Jesus says,

["Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,

"‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
7 in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'

8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.]

Jesus as God bring this light of those who stray from the teaching of the bible and bring in their own whim of thought and philosophies or something they dreamed about. What about us ? Do we walk the narrow path that leads to life or are we on the wide road that leads to destruction? May you be blessed. Amen.
