My friends, I want you to know what a hard time we had in Asia. Our sufferings were so horrible and so unbearable that death seemed certain. In fact, we felt sure we were going to die. But this made us stop trusting in ourselves and start trusting God, who raises the dead to life.
And in our travail we should entreat God to stop playing with himself and send the rain due to the earth. In Mexican folklore there is saying that goes that there is no date that doesn’t come and no due that is not paid.
And certainly Jesus said to his Father whether there was a way out of the cross and certainly when we pray tell God Jesus that as head of the house his our leader and responsible for our well being.
And our Leader in U.S.A entreat him to remember his vows when he was sworn in to defend our values, our freedom and our interest. He cannot punch out till’ his tenure as our President is over.
It's 5:51 AM in my town. I turn on my web-browser and ipod to take a sip of my coffee and think about the new day. I love this time of the day or morning. Before sunrise. What reflections do we have today? For one we have 12 year old Jesus inquiring the Pharisees and teachers of the law and what they should
Know best the law. Who know is by then Jesus had concept of the cross that was reserved for him. But he told his anxious parents, " Shouldn't I go about my father's business...?" But he was submissive to them, for he knew the law and respected his parents.
So how is it today for this morning. This happens to be a wonderful morning day. Today we come to know of Jesus for some us and for me because he make himself new to me every day. It is just when I go blind that I just miss the whole point and think foolishly.
Another reflection, Jesus goes now not to the temple but the land of Gaderenes where he is met by two men who are possesed by evil spirits. And they tell him, " I know who you are...!" "Have you come to torture us before the time..?
What is you name? He asks them. And they answer "Legion because we are many...!" When Jesus was a boy, I don't know how aware he was of things. He tells the Pharisees in some place in some heated discourse, " You are of your father the devil...!"
This are not happy new for this new day morning monday! But the good news is the dominion God has over his environment, as boy and as man. In John 2 Jesus changes the water to wine. Yes dominion, God Jesus and then he goes on to cleanse the Temple with whip of cords.
Yes the good news today, sleepy soul and wishy person is that God has dominion. As boy, as man, over demons and man, why making wine of your monday is no problem for him. So raise you hope and give thanks God is going to do good things for you today.
Call upon him today! Those who call upon the name of the Lord will NEVER be put to shame! Make that call! Its toll free! Open 24/7! You won't be disappointed! Amen.
Each year around Springtime there a new joy and anticipation in the air. Perhaps a vacation. Perhaps a park picnic or who know what everybody does around this season. In the bible say something about how we should relate to God as each season come along. And a window of thought is as follows: In the old testament God instituted daily offering, Sabbath offering, Season offering and Ocassion offerings, in the daily it says,
"28:1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,2 "Command the people of Israel and say to them,‘My offering, my food for my food offerings, my pleasing aroma, you shall be careful to offer to me at its appointed time.'3 And you shall say to them, This is the food offering that you shall offer to the LORD: two male lambs a year old without blemish, day by day, as a regular offering.4 The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer at twilight;5 also a tenth of an ephah of fine flour for a grain offering, mixed with a quarter of a hin of beaten oil.6 It is a regular burnt offering, which was ordained at Mount Sinai for a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.7 Its drink offering shall be a quarter of a hin for each lamb. In the Holy Place you shall pour out a drink offering of strong drink to the LORD.8 The other lamb you shall offer at twilight. Like the grain offering of the morning, and like its drink offering, you shall offer it as a food offering, with a pleasing aroma to the LORD."
One the most special offering to the Lord is our daily praise and humble diligent service and meditation on his word and precepts. Special occassion offering are important. Like this spring Season and the Passover, we celebrate the renewal of God glorious created nature and departure from winter and its glory. But now it's the time for sowing new plans and thinking things anew, taking a new joy and rekindling the old love for God and family but in a new more vibrant way with a pleasan aroma of love that pleases God.
But God in his celebration he never ending instruction and admonition continues, there an individual who doubed in the new testatament. It says,
"14 And when they came to the disciples, they saw a great crowd around them, and scribes arguing with them.15 And immediately all the crowd, when they saw him, were greatly amazed and ran up to him and greeted him.16 And he asked them,"What are you arguing about with them?"17 And someone from the crowd answered him,"Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute.18 And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able."19 And he answered them,"O faithless generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me."20 And they brought the boy to him. And when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth.21 And Jesus asked his father,"How long has this been happening to him?"And he said,"From childhood.22 And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. [But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us."23 And Jesus said to him,"‘If you can'! All things are possible for one who believes."24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said,"I believe; help my unbelief!] 25 And when Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,"You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again."26 And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the boy was like a corpse, so that most of them said,"He is dead."27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.28 And when he had entered the house, his disciples asked him privately,"Why could we not cast it out?"29 And he said to them,"This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer."
Jesus was offended at him for his unbelief. He said,
["But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us."23 And Jesus said to him,"‘If you can'! All things are possible for one who believes."24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said,"I believe; help my unbelief...]
This is not a pleasant aroma unto the Lord, becuase the Lord wants to hear the Amens from his people who really have a sure, quiet trust on him for all occassion, tasks and Seasons...May you have a good day. Amen.
When we get on planning our home for our family, sometimes we get hung up on the furniture and not on the house itself. The structure itself is what keeps everything else safe. And so it was with the scribe and Pharisees of Jesus time, they were more focused on the pots and pans, then on the bread itself. Sometime we go off hub and start focusing on lesser matters and loose out on the big picture.
When you go to church, where is your focus? Once someone asked Jesus, what was the most important commandment in the Law, and said to love God with all your heart, soul and mind and to love your neighbor as yourself. So what does all this mean? In Colossians 3, paul exhort us to set our minds on the things of above where Jesus is seated not on the things of the earth.
So what this really mean is to bring God down into our life and let him be the center of our attention, in the family, in the workplace and of course at church. So thing is to magnify God and the greater things in life. The more open minded we are the more we will be able to see the big picture and set our sail for greater horizons. The higher we raise our staf, the wider the waters will part for us to cross.
May you have a good day and you and I focus on the greater things like heaven and eternal life itself. May you be blessed. Amen.
