4Now it came to pass, when they spake daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.
5And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.
6And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
7In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.
8And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thy kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them.
9If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.
"Passage Exodus 14:25-27:
25And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
26And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
27And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
And the man said that I believe God and walk in darkness you make God a liar and the truth is in you...
If you say I have not sinned you make God a liar and the truth is not in you...
I went to church today, but I did not go to the service, I just hanged out for the bible study. We had an open interchange or ideas and some disagreed and some agreed. But we all agreed on something which is basic to our beliefs. The bible say in Ephesian 2:1-9,
["1(A) And you were(B) dead in the trespasses and sins 2(C) in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following(D) the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in(E) the sons of disobedience- 3among whom we all once lived in(F) the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and(G) were by nature(H) children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4But God, being(I) rich in mercy,(J) because of the great love with which he loved us, 5even(K) when we were dead in our trespasses,(L) made us alive together with Christ-(M) by grace you have been saved- 6and raised us up with him and(N) seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable(O) riches of his grace in(P) kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For(Q) by grace you have been saved(R) through faith. And this is(S) not your own doing;(T) it is the gift of God, 9(U) not a result of works,(V) so that no one may boast.]
We know that were dead in the trespasses and sins that we had committed. We followed the devil who had held us captive to do his will. He propegates his bives through the spiritual realm and was leading us in his way. But God made us alive in Christ through his mercy and grace, seeing how futile our effort was to help and free ourselves out of our mess. But this is all the result of grace and nothing we thought of or conjured up ourselves. It is like it says a gift, unmerited and undeserved.
And for this we must give God thanks and praise God for his holiness and thoughtfulness to find it his decision to save us from damnation and wrath. It we learn this thing, it all revolves around this concept of grace. We only go to church to learn this things, but the mercy and grace comes from the altar that is in heaven. And we can thank him, God and praise him at anytime and at anyplace we happen to remember how kind God has been to us. So I hope you have had a wonderful Sunday were ever you happen to be this time. May you be blessed. Amen.
I was reading a five volume report that God did not make us automatons. This idea of free choice is stickier than crab grass. We just don't understand how able God is to run and manage his creation. We limit God with our limited perspective. If we only believed how glorious God is we would not think of God as a spy in our life trying to meddle in our business. When God gives us liberty it is just because he loves us.
Now what do you believe? Do you, I think God is out get us and do us wrong. What part is that we don't undertand that God is good and holy. Why can't God control everythink you whim to think or do? He controls the weather and the universe why wouldn't he be able to blind you or let you see? Issaiah 6:9. The reason I'm writting this 6 minutes to midnight, is because God love you and want you to believe God that nothing is impossible for him. And the bible really means nothing.
If you believe man has a natural spirit, he gave you and mine in the onset of conception. I became a living soul. An embryo has a natural human spirit which is what allows you to think like not animal can. Or we secular and think that an embryo is just a mass of cells? It come to what Joshua told the people, if you believe your god follow him but me and my household will follow the Lord.
Sometime when I have dilema, I ask the Lord to decide for me what to think because only God can deal with the snares of the wily devil. It just a matter of how much glorious and how much I have put my faith and trust in God. If he cannot control my life how will I trust him to help me make the right choices and my destiny? Once you begin to understand how set apart God is and how really he is more than able to do than what we think is plausible to our limited brain wave pattern, then we will understand that we can trust him forever. May you be blessed. Amen.
In these passages things get dark and mysterious. Korah and his company rebel agaist Moses and his commission. Now in these passages illustrates how God deals with rebellion. God made the ground split open and swallow them alive in the fire. In the below passage we had to pray for insight, it says,
36 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,37 "Tell Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest to take up the censers out of the blaze. Then scatter the fire far and wide, for they have become holy.38 As for the censers of these men who have sinned at the cost of their lives, let them be made into hammered plates as a covering for the altar, for they offered them before the LORD, and they became holy. Thus they shall be a sign to the people of Israel."39 So Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, which those who were burned had offered, and they were hammered out as a covering for the altar,
The Lord told Moses to tell Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest to take the cencer out of the blaze...and then later it says they, the hammered plates, would be a sign to the people...and hammered out as covering for the altar...
Now in this the Lord wants to be reminded of him to not forget. He tells the son of Aaron to take the cencer...The Lord wants to remind himself that every offering made on that altar will be made for the sake of the children. He doesn't tell Moses or Aaron, but his son to the ceremony. And surely the covered plates are something that is in the sight of the Lord continually. The sake of the children is in front of the Lord continually and he would not suffer himself or the gospel to defraud any child of the hope of the things he has in store for them.
When Jesus had the children come to him and blessed them. The children are a constant concern to God. You can sin against God or whomever but don't suffer youself to sin against the children. Jesus said and warned suffer yourself not to let you cause a little one lilke this one to sin, it would be better that a millstone be tied around your neck and thrown into the sin. How we treat our children should be covered plates of the Gospel and we should have an open display for them before everyone to see -to show them- how much we love them. May you be blessed. Amen.
Back in the book of Leviticus, we have an account of the rules for the guilt offering, and the peace offering and the meal offering. Real peace and forgiveness can only come through the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. If we seek peace with him and with our selves that can only come through him. The Pharisees had a misconception that they could have peace with the old sacrificial system of sheding the blood of sheep and goats, according to the rules of the old testament.
But real peace and forgiveness can only come from sharing the name of Jesus to others. It's the only truly merciful act to help others come to the knowledge of Jesus and help come to believe God and his word. Only the living God can help us in this matter, because what we need in our life is nothing short of a miracle. Humanly it's impossible to come the knowledge of the truth, but the all-mighty God still performs miracles in people lives today and you can become one of them.
So in whatever you do, do not come short in believing God, because what it is in his heart is to bring you mercy and truly he has no intention to put you through sacrifice. That he says, I desire mercy and not sacrifice. May you be blessed. Amen.
The more we study Gods' word the more we see that Jesus is the bridge betweent the old testament and the new testament. To start with, God gave certain men to do the meticulous of engraving the work on the tabernacle. In the new testament Paul writes to the church God has given the church to conduct the ministry of the gospel. They too are precise and deliverate gift to perform a special function and work.
Next we have God giving the sabbath as sign between him and the people that it is he that sactifies us. Paul writes that it is foreknown us and sactified us. He saved us while we were still sinners and with hope in the world. He became the intiator, performer and completer of our salvation and the sabbath is still a constant reminder that is he that gives us rest from our futily to save ourselves which is impossible.
Next we have the building and worshipping of the golden calf. We in the new testament, we too, build a golden calf- the ideal of what we think religion should be and we carry with us those idea and sin we just want to carry with us and those sins that keep recurring. May it's those pet theories or philosophical repetoire that we just are to fond of the give up. Paul writes that he had to struggle with with what he wanted to do and kept wrongfully repeating and unable to get right.
But lastly the people were asked to leave Sinai. Hebrews exhorts us to run the race set before. We have to keep advancing and growing in the knowledge of God. It won't happen by osmosis. We have to active participants in the march and progress. And Jesus our guide in all of this remain the same 'rock' in the old and new corner stone in the new. May you be blessed. Amen.
When we fanthom the great expense God has taken from the beginning to make us holy, since the beginning of time, we can't but tremble and plainly go agasp at the wonder of our calling. We consider the ordination ceromony of a levite priest and the meticuous praparation of a wedding feast. Starting from the back from the beginning, we have the parable of the wedding feast. We have our Lord call many guests but they all began to make excuses and to why not come.
So we think of the ordination of a feast and the ordination of a Levite for service in the temple. The latter is very meticulous and deliverate, but so is the preparation of the wedding banquet, deliverate and meticulous. Our Lord has taken great expense to make us holy through the shed blood of his Son and like if it was possible not make to the wedding feast is a contridiction in terms.
But like Paul says, we have an altar where those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat. The wedding feast was far more solemn because it took place in heaven and the ordination of the Levite Priests took place in moral earth. In Hebrews it exhorts us like this, to take heed that we listen to him who speaks from heaven and not ignore him like when he spoke on earth. So our focus should be the solemnity of the wedding feast and pray that we too not start to make excused why we should not attend.
And we should fear, because the havoc trouble in this life is great and the distraction are prevalent but greater will be our trouble is we fail to take the invitation to the wedding feast seriously. So the message is to take God seriously and realize that he has take great task in making us ready. So we take the waning not to harden our heart when he calls like did those in the wilderness who later found not rest in God. May you be blessed. Amen. And we think about and contemplate both for a moment.
When the Israellites were asked to build the bronze altar or beat the olives for the burning of the continual lamps in the tabernacle, we really thought we had a real handle on God and could put him in a box. But when Jesus came and introduced himself he overturned everything. We had someone who was tangibly human but claimed to be deity. We just could not believe that he was the one sent by God.
Even after miracle and miracle it would just not fit that this Joseph's and Mary's boy was the the incarnation of total glory. Yet Jesus testified, I will tear down this temple and in three day raise it up...What about us? Are we still in the ABC's of who Jesus really is? Do we still still think he was just a prophet? A good man? A just person? Who do we really belive Jesus really is?
We have to believe that Jesus is the very Word of God and indeed the Messiah sent by God and if we really understand we know that he is God himself and has died and risen to live forever. But if we don't know this, how is it that we will be able to thank the living God who is sovereing over all things? So we really must get along and really understand the real scope what Glorious God Jesus really is. May you be blessed. Amen.
I has this thought and I really didn't want to get into it. I've written about it before somewhere and I didn't want to remember it. I was ready the story about a woman in the times of the reformation. And she like those like her was the progenitor of those who cry perfuselly at church and have this emotional trauma, because they say Jesus is speaking to them lieraraly and are accompanied with having vision and dreams about Jesus. I really feel real concern for people like that that they are misled into believing into mysticism and seemighly experiencing poltegiest manifestations from the other world.
I stumble once in a while with people with this fervor and 'devotion' and the ligthing of candles and screaming things while pretending to have and 'experience'. I hope nobody who reads this blog fits that description. I must say that the bibe in Deterenomy 13 explicitedly forbid us from prophesying out of dreams and visions and or mystical experiences.
The Word of God is not founded on illusions or mystical communication with God or angels. Gods word is founded on sure promises and not on subjective thoughts or deep emotional experieces. If you have one of this 'feel good' about God sessions, be wary because the devil is out to make you feel good even when you may be doing the wrong thing.
Ever since Luther, there came a new breed of deciever who are out to make you 'feel good' at what they but very bad at getting down to real transformation and repentance. I won't classify what they are called, but they are out to make you feel good about their congregational meetings.
I hope you take this a warning. If the next time you go to church and the Pastor or whomever makes you 'feel good' and don't see how the lecture has revealed that you are a sinner, you should be careful and pray.
The bible say that the rebuke of a freind is more like medicine than the poison of the flattery of an enemy. And I didn't like or want to write this blog. But if someone is spared in the process of what I say, that will be the enough reward. May you be blessed. Amen.
