Open The Doors (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
So many times, ministry is only done inside the walls of the church. You rarely hear people talking about church, and Christianity while they are at work, or out in public. We need to let people see Jesus working in, and through us. If we are hiding behind the doors, then the message isn't going out.

Scripture Reference
John 7:3
His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing.

Action Point
Open the doors of the church building, and let Jesus flow out of your heart for all to see. Pray for others at work. Bring your Bible to work, and set it on your desk to read when you have the time. Encourage others in their faith, and give God the glory for what He has done.

Dwelling Place (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Throughout my life, I have moved several times. I grew up in MoundsView Minnesota, Got married, and moved to Brooklyn Park MN, then moved to Shakopee MN. From there we moved to Plano TX and now live in Wylie TX. Our Address may have changed, but our dwelling place remained the same. If you are a Christian, then you have a safe dwelling place. You are safe in the arms of the Father.

Scripture Reference
Psalm 90:1
LORD, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.

Action Point
It doesn't matter where you live, as long as you are abiding in Him. Anywhere you go, God will be there. All you have to do is look for Him.

Exersise Your Gifts (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
God has given each one of us gifts to be used for His glory. The fact is many people neglect to use these gifts. Like a muscle, they get stronger when you use them, but when you fail to exercise them, the become weak and less useful.

Scripture Reference
1st Timothy 4:14
Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

Action Point
Use the gifts that God has given you. Don't put them on a shelf to collect dust. Get out the polish, and use a little elbow grease.

Stand Tall In Adversity (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
It has been said that a leader is only as strong as the people who surround him. As Christians, we need to lift up and encourage our leaders. Like Moses, many spiritual leaders get tired. They need others to come along side them and lift them up, and pray for them. With the help of others, they can stand tall even in adversity.

Scripture Reference
Exodus 17:12
But Moses' hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Action Point
Take time to pray for your pastors, and spritual leaders. Come along side them, and lift them up. There is strength in numbers. One person can only do so much. A great number of people can do great things.

Open Communication (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Have you ever tried to have a conversation with a wall? It is a one sided conversation. Many people have one sided conversations with God. They do all the talking, God hears their prayers, yet they don't hear the answer, because they are not listening. As Christians we need to be in constant communication with the Father. Prayer is more than just talking. We need to be listening carefully to what He has to say.

Scripture Reference
1st Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing

Action Point
Keep the lines of communication open. When we call on the Father, He listens. When He calls on us, we should be ready to respond.

Captive Audience (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
The apostle Paul learned to be content in whatever state he was in. He made the best out of every situation. He took every opportunity to share and live his faith. Even when Paul was in prison for spreading the gospel, he used the situation to share the gospel with those who held him captive.

Scripture Reference
Philippians 4:12
I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Action Point
Don't let the situations in life discourage you from ministering to others. God may be putting you in a place where someone needs to see, and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. Take that opportunity to share you faith. Let them see the Jesus in you.

I Will Not Stumble (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
As Christians, we often think like Peter did. The fact is, we have all stumbled at one time or another. Peter loved the Lord, but in a time of weakness Peter denied he knew Jesus. Often times our words, and actions say the same things to others about our relationship with the Lord.

Scripture Reference
Mark 14:29
Peter said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be."

Action Point
Let all you do be a testimony of your love for the Lord. In the times of weakness know that He still loves you. Even when we stumble, Jesus is waiting there for us with His arms open wide. He has already forgiven us.

Christ And The Church (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
The Christian marriage between a man and a women, is a picture of Christ and the church. The groom represents Christ, and the bride is the church. We as men are supposed to love our wives unconditionally, as Christ loves us. Wives are supposed to submit to their husbands as we are to submit to Christ, and His authority.

Scripture Reference
Ephesians 5:32
This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Action Point
As Christians, we need to place Jesus in a place of authority in our lives. We willingly submit to Him, when we receive Him as Lord and Savior. Submit to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and know that He loves us unconditionally.

Big Praise Report

Hello my friends,

Many of you have written to me and have said that you were were praying for my sister Conie's Grandson (4 year old Alex Hernandez) and I personally want to thank each of you for it.  Within 2 hours of the time I sent out the emergency prayer request my sister called me and said that he had spit most of the solvent out, and had swallowed very little if any.  The doctors gave Alex, of all things, GatorAid.  Alex is well and shows no signs of ill effects.

This I know and believe with all my heart, when faithful people pray God changes things.  WOW!  Isn't God great!

No Condemnation (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Have you ever wondered if you have gone beyond God's grace? It is not uncommon for people to feel this way. The fact is, if you are a Christian, you have already been forgiven. The moment you receive Jesus as you Lord and Savior, the slate is wiped clean. Your sins are forgotten forever.

Scripture Reference
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Action Point
If you are in Christ Jesus, there is no condemnation. We all fall short of His expectations every day. How He deals with us is totally dependent on us having a relationship with Jesus. Know that you are forgiven. Trust in His word.
