Living Testimony (Thirty Second Devotional)

There is no greater testimony then a life that is being lived for Jesus. Your consistent walk with the Lord will only amplify the words that are spoken. You need to live it each and every day.
Scripture Reference
1st Timothy 4:16
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
Action Point
Let your life reflect your faith so that when people see you, they will know you are a Christian. Your walk will be what they will notice. They will want what you have.

Is Evangelism Dead In The Church?

On Sunday evening I started a series on evangelism. To my supprise, when I asked how many people had ever led someon to the Lord, not a single hand went up. What followed was quite supprising as well. I then asked how many people knew how to share the salvation message with an unbeliever. Again, no one knew how. Often times the church talks about evangelism, and how we ought to go out and share the gospel with others, but yet they fail to teach you how to do it. As I look back, I realized that this was not just an issue at our church, but in many churches I had attended over the years. One of the main functions of the New Testament church is to equip the saints Ephesians 4:11-12 says And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. We need to be teaching the basics of evangelism in the church. It seems to me, that many churches have become content with just existing, and not growing. They expect people to come to them, and they ask themselves why the church isn't growing. Just going to church isn't enough. We need to start being the church. We need to be preparing our members to go out and minister in our communities.

Die To Sin - Live For Jesus (Thirty Second Devotional)

Two men hung on the cross on either side of Jesus. They were both guilty, and deserving of death. Each man responded to Jesus. The first rejected Jesus and died in his sin. The other man received Jesus, and died to his sin that was paid for by the one who died for his sin.
Scripture Reference
Luke 23:33
And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left.
Action Point

We all have a decision to make. Do we receive Him, or do we reject Him. Do we die to sin, and live for Christ, or do we die in our sin. Trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior today. If you are a Christian, tell others about Jesus. The choice is clear.

Who Are You Seeking (Thirty Second Devotional)

Whom are you seeking? This was the question Jesus asked. Some people are seeking a teacher. Some are seeking a religious leader. Some are seeking a miracle worker, and some are seeking a healer. We need to be seeking after the Savior. It is one thing to know about Jesus, but another to know Jesus. Judas knew about Jesus, but did not have a relationship with Him.
Scripture Reference

John 18:4-5
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, "Whom are you seeking?" They answered Him, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus said to them, "I am He." And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

Action Point

Make it a priority in your life to have a relationship with Jesus. Get to know Him. Talk to Him, and spend time in the Word.

Faith In The Fire (Thirty Second Devotional)

Often times the greatest testimony of our faith comes when we are going through trials and tribulation. It is easy to follow Jesus when times are good, but the true reflection of our faith comes in the hard times.
Scripture Reference
Philippians 1:12
But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel,

Action Point
Let your love for Jesus show in the hard times. Your actions may lead others to Christ.

Constant and Unchanging (Thirty Second Devotional)

All you have to do is look around you, and see that we live in a world of constant change. People, prices, cars, fads, jobs, and even churches change over time. Isn't it good to know that in a world of change there is one thing that will never change?
Scripture Reference
Isaiah 40:8
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.
Action Point
Let the Bible be your road map. The word of our God has stood the test of time, and will continue long after we are gone. It is constant and unchanging. It will never lead you in the wrong direction.

No Small Parts (Thirty Second Devotional)

Growing up, I was involved in community theater. They would always say, there is no such thing as a small part. Each actor, singer, stage hand, light designer, and even the person at the ticket booth had an important role in the production, and each were equally important. We all have an important role in the body of Christ as well. There are no small parts in the church. Each and every person is important, and valued.
Scripture Reference
1st Corinthians 12:22-23
No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty,
Action Point
Do your part in the body of Christ. Let the Lord lead you in how, and where you serve.

A Clean House (Thirty Second Devotional)

When my wife knows we have company coming, she makes sure the house looks perfect. She tries to make sure every spot is cleaned, and every thing is in its place. In the same way, we need to be ready when Jesus comes. We need to have our spiritual house in order, and be washed white as snow by the blood of the Lamb.
Scripture Reference
2nd Peter 3:14
Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;
Action Point
Will you be ready when Jesus comes? Will your spiritual house be in order? Make sure you are ready when He comes. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse you of your sin, and be clothed in His righteousness.

A Personal Question (Thirty Second Devotional)

In Matthew 16:15 Jesus poses one of the most important questions that we need to ask ourselves. "But who do you say that I am?" Your eternal destination hinges on your answer. It doesn't matter how anyone else answers the question. If He is your personal Lord and Savior, then you are headed in the right direction.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 16:15
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Action Point
Romans 10:19 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Who do you say that Jesus is?

Mistaken Identity (Thirty Second Devotional)

Jesus is often the victim of mistaken identity. People today have a different view of who Jesus is. To some He is a religious leader. To some He is a good teacher, and to some He is a person to be mocked. Who is Jesus to you? Is He your Lord and Savior, or is He the victim of mistaken identity.
Scripture Reference
Matthew 13:13
When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?"
Action Point
The world does not see Jesus the same way we do. To us as Christians, He is Lord and Savior. Tell others about who Jesus is to you. Tell them about your personal relationship with Jesus.
