Wake Up (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
As the new year approaches, we are reminded that we are one year closer to our Lord's return. It should be a wake up call for the church and for us as individuals. As Christians, we need to have a sense of urgency when it comes to sharing the gospel message with others.

Scripture Reference
Romans 13:11
And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

Action Point
Make a New years resolution to share the gospel with as many people as you can. We don't know the day or the hour, but we do know that we are one year closer to His return. Remember now is the day of salvation. There might not be another chance.

Early Morning (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
There is no greater way to start out your day, then with the Lord. Starting out your day in prayer and study will set the tone for the rest of the day. In a world that is seeking to push Him out, there is an oasis that can always go to. If you are thirsty, all you have to do is go to the fountain that will never run dry.

Scripture Reference
Psalm 63:1
O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.

Action Point
Start every day out with the Lord. Get up a little earlier, and spend some time in prayer. Take an extra fifteen minutes a day to spend reading your Bible. Instead of trying to fit it in, make it a priority. Start your day off right.

Vessel For His Glory (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
We are all a work in progress. Just like a potter, God makes us and molds us in to who we are. Sometimes, we are like the clay and go our own direction. It is then that God will take and mare the clay, and begin to reshape us.

Scripture Reference
Isaiah 64:8
But now, O LORD,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.

Action Point
Be pliable in the potters hands. Let Him mold you and shape you. Your life may have started out resembling a lump of clay, but in His hands, you will become a beautiful vessel to be used for His glory.

Lukewarm Worship (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Many people are lukewarm in their worship, and their relationship with Jesus.. They just go through the motions, while never having a true relationship with Him. They go to church on Sunday morning, but never acknowledge Him the rest of the week. God does not want our half hearted efforts, but our full devotion to Him.

Scripture Reference
Revelation 3:16
"So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Action Point
As Christians, we need to be on fire for God. If we are just going through the motions, then we are not truly following Him. He doesn't want us to just play church on Sunday's. He wants us to be the church every minute of every day.

Pass It On (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
One of the greatest gifts that we can give to our children is to let them see our faith lived out in our lives. One of the reasons that I am serving the Lord today is because of my parents faith. They set the example for me to follow, and they were following the example Jesus set for them.

Scripture Reference
Psalm 145:4
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.

Action Point
Pass your faith on to your children. Let them see your faith lived out in your life. Let them see the Jesus in you.

Merry Christmas (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
During this Christmas season, remember to give thanks to God for all that He has done. It is not about the gifts under the tree, but about the free gift that God gave to us through His Son. A Baby born in Bethlehem to die on a cross for our sin.

Scripture Reference
Psalm 75:1
We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks!
For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.

Action Point
As you open the gifts, remember the gift that God sent to us. "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21)

Proclaim His Birth (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
There are many people this Christmas season who have met Jesus for the first time. They heard about the child born in Bethlehem, and the reason that He came. As Christians we need to continue to proclaiming the Saviors birth every chance we get. Christmas should be celebrated every day of the year, and not just on December 25th.

Scripture Reference
Luke 2:17
Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.

Action Point
Continue to proclaim the Saviors birth, and to tell others about the gospel message. Christmas comes once a year, but the message still remains the same.

Anonymous Giving (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
I remember one Christmas that my mother was very ill. She had just gotten home from the hospital, and that night a man dressed as Santa showed up at the door with presents. To this day we do not know who it was. There was no fanfare, but his good deed touched a family and some 35 years later is remembered.

Scripture Reference
Matthew 6:2
"Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.

Action Point
We are not to do our charitable deeds so that we will be seen by men. It is the gift that is given in secret that is cherished the most. Give out of love.

You Decide (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
The angels were praising God and saying "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" Jesus came to earth to bring peace. We were separated from God by sin. Jesus came to bridged the gap between us and God. Romans 6:23 says, For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Scripture Reference
Luke 2:13-14
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Action Point
You have a choice to make. Will you chose life through Jesus Christ, or will you chose the other ways that lead to death.

To All People (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
As the angel was proclaiming the birth of the Messiah, we see two important truths. First is proclamation and the great joy of the Saviors birth, and secondly, in the last six words of the verse we see who the message is for. "which will be to all people" The gospel message is for all to hear. Salvation is to all who believe, and receive.

Scripture Reference
Luke 2:10
Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

Action Point
Remember, the vilest offender who truly believes, that moment from Jesus a pardon receives. It doesn't matter where you have been. What matters is where you go from here.
