Take Action (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
It is not enough just to hear His voice. The angel spoke, Joseph listened, and then it was up to Joseph to take action. It is one thing to hear His voice, it's another to listen, and act.

Scripture Reference
Matthew 1:24
Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,

Action Point
Stop, and listen. When you hear His voice, take action. God will guide you in all that you do. All you have to do is trust and obey.

Listen To His Voice (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Like Joseph, sometimes we need divine guidance. God sent an angel to Joseph with a message. Do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. This child is of the Holy Spirit. God still speaks to us today. The question is will we head His voice.

Scripture Reference
Matthew 1:20
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Action Point

Open your spiritual ears, and hear what God is saying to you. Be receptive to the Holy Spirit's leading.

Do What Is Right (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Where would we be today if Joseph had done what the law allowed. Under the law, Joseph could have had Mary put to death, but instead Joseph did what was right in the sight of God instead of what was right in the sight of men.

Scripture Reference
Matthew 1:19
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.

Action Point
We need to do what is right in the sight of God. It may not always be the popular thing, but it is the right thing.

He Is My Lord (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Throughout the Old Testament we see Jesus called by many names. In Exodus, He is the Passover Lamb. In Ruth He is the Kinsmen Redeemer. In Isaiah He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. The names may be different, but who He is has never changed. He is my Lord and Savior.

Scripture Reference
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Action Point
Is Jesus Lord of your life? He may fit into many different roles, but He is still the same Lord and Savior. He is still called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. No matter how you look at it, He is! Trust in Him today.

Give Thanks (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Many families sat down today, and gave thanks for what they have, and what God has blessed them with. Tough there are many things to thank God for, there is none more important than the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. It is because of God's love for us that He gave His Son, so that whoever believes in Him may have everlasting life.

Scripture Reference
2nd Corinthians 4:15
For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Action Point
When you are giving thanks to God for what you have, remember to thank Him for what He has given.

Have a happy Thanksgiving

The First Christmas Tree (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
The book of Matthew starts out with the first Christmas tree. Though there are several tarnished ornaments, we see at the top of the tree, the perfect Light of the world. The Lamb without spot or blemish.

Scripture Reference
Matthew 1:1
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:

Action Point

There is only one who is, or ever will be perfect enough to top the greatest Christmas tree ever. He is Jesus. No matter how hard we try, we can never hide our imperfections. Let Jesus be the light of your Christmas tree.

God With Us (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Isaiah prophesied of the virgin birth, and even told us who the child was. Immanuel is translated God with us. When Jesus said I Am, He was proclaiming that He is God (the Son). He is Immanuel.

Scripture Reference
Isaiah 7:14
"Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Action Point
Put your trust in Jesus. He is God with us. He was born of a virgin just as Isaiah had prophesied many year earlier.

Prayer Request
Submitted by Janice Brown
This is my cousins husband......Please pray for them!!!!! Robert's boss has a 3 1/2 year old grandson named Kinion who is currently in St Francis ICU. Called Out of Egypt (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
Throughout the Old Testament there are over three hundred prophecies concerning Jesus, and now we see another prophesy about how God would call His Son out of Egypt. This is not a contradiction, but a confirmation. After Jesus was born, Herod sought to have Jesus killed. They then fled to Egypt.

Scripture Reference
Hosea 11:1
"When Israel was a child, I loved him,
And out of Egypt I called My son.

Action Point
God's Word is accurate, and true. We can look at hundreds of prophecies, and see how God has spoken through the prophets, and how He has worked it all out in detail. Take the time this Christmas season to explore the Old Testament and see how God foretold of the Savors birth.

He shall be called a Nazarene (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
In Matthew 2:23 we see that "He shall be called a Nazarene." Again this is not a contradiction, but a confirmation. From Egypt, Jesus was brought to Nazareth as it was prophesied. It was also prophesied that He would be the deliverer.

Scripture Reference
Judges 13:5
"For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines."

Action Point
He is our Deliverer, and our Savior. The proof is in the prophesies, made in the Old Testament, and fulfilled in the New Testament. Place your trust in the one who saves and delivers. Place your trust in Jesus.

Born In Bethlehem (Thirty Second Devotional)

Devotional
The Old Testament was specific of where the Savior would be born. Joseph and Mary had no control over the circumstances. They had no say in the matter. It was the census that brought them to Bethlehem. It was all in God's plan.

Scripture Reference
Micah 5:2
"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting."

Action Point
We need to always remember that God is in control. Even when our plans don't work out, God's plan is working perfectly.
