Sons of the Most High comprehends and adjusts to what He wishes; ‘that they all may be one.’ (John 17:21)
I have been in agreement with that since first laying eyes on it. Trouble was, it was so far down the line of priorities that it didn’t profit anything. And as I have stated here and elsewhere, my version of honoring this wish of Jesus was confined to “all” of the correct company whom held that narrow vestige of doctrine me and my little denomination were accustom to.
Many of our Pentecostal stripe are actually under the same inclinations; unity of doctrine first. Yeah, I can just here it, ‘Here he goes again pounding away at that hope of love covering the boundaries.’ When it is more than that, more than whatever fulfillment can come from trashing each other. For that is what we are very skilled at, and don’t pretend it doesn’t visit many places of this forum.
It is unfortunately more than integrity in the word whenever the word can fit. But the word doesn’t always fit the slash-and-run bearer of the rod, we seem too caught up in it to remember those words that leads and befriends the flawed to safety (Matthew 9:13; Hosea 6:6).
With such a proliferation underway, it is no wonder why many think it to be so strange to take up supporting the opponent and un-learned in this manner. So it doesn’t matter how often one wishes to bring it up as long as the people of God understand this unity isn’t dealing with uniformity, but simple and continued support of one another, and just as He said towards His Church, and instruction for “all”.
