At the present time in this country, we are witnessing the attempts of our government to change our system from freedom to subservience. The radical changes that are taking place within our divisions of government are slowly removing our rights given to us by the original intent of our Constitution; Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. As Christians, our rights and freedoms are being altered to the point where the word Christmas cannot be used but has been replaced by the use of the word Holidays….
Our President has surrounded himself with radical thinkers that believe in socialistic values rather than the freedom of every man to make his or her own choices. Although this man is highly educated, he seems to lack a sense of wisdom and is driven by issues that appear to be emotional rather than intellectual. As Christians, we are obligated to pray for our leaders and perhaps our prayers should be for the Lord to give him a sense of wisdom and commitment to the people and not to special interest groups.
However, as Christians, we have a way of overcoming the stress and anxiety that our leadership has created for the average man. Jesus shows us the way of thinking and acting that transcends human frailties and will give us a sense of peace that cannot be taken from us. If we are feeling the tension that so permeates our society, then we should reexamine our commitment to Jesus and follow His example. We would find that a sense of peace would return in our hearts and make our lives less stressful…
I was just speaking with a friend of mine and the conversation was, as usual, about the incredible circumstances that we as a nation are experiencing. Our government has no concern for the average citizen, and the amount of corruption and dishonestly within our leadership is overwhelming. And, it does not even matter to these officials when they become exposed, because nothing happens to them and they are not held accountable for their actions. We also spoke about the fact that almost everyone that we speak to has the same feelings that are creating great stress within our lives.
As I pondered the reason that our Lord would allow this to happen, it suddenly occurred to me that there was a lesson to be learned. I always wonder what lesson that I am missing when something happens that I find difficult to understand, and what is happening within the world certainly enters into that category. I then realized the subtlety of Satanic influences taking place. It became clear that the time that we spend thinking and worrying about these circumstances is time spent away from God….
We, as Christians, should have no concerns about our future, but because of the intensity of the problems that now exist, it becomes almost impossible not to become concerned.
Suddenly, it became clear to me that my thoughts and confidence was slowly eroding away from God and that the lesson was obvious. We must return to God with all of our hearts and minds and not allow the influences to keep us away from that position. We may think that we have not strayed away, but we would be wrong. If we are experiencing stress and worry, then that becomes the proof of our drifting from the only position that will give us peace
