Forgiveness has always been very easy for me, I was never one to hold grudges for a very long period of time, without feeling bad inside. So, there was no effort for me to turn the other cheek; even if that person didn’t deserve it, it brought me such inner peace and tranquility. We all have certain trials and tribulations that we are confronted with in life and they can be so intense and our emotions at that time can be so distorted. Holding a grudge can be so unhealthy for you mentally and physically. The most important issue here is communication, talking with the individual to try and resolve the matter at hand.If that doesn’t work; you know in your heart that you tried, just let them know that you forgive them and pray that God will transform them and fill them with compassion and you with peacefulness.
MATTHEW 11: 25, 26
25 - “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
26 – “But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
MATTHEW 18: 21-22
21 – Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? “Up to Seven times?”
22 –Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven time, but up to seventy times seven!”
