Our world gravitates to the powerful, rich, talented, educated, good looking and tends to overlook the ordinary people . Yet just as God has His eyes on the sparrows so God loves the unknowns.
The prophet Elijah on one of his low moments thought he is the only one seeking and serving God was pleading to God. But God answered him that He has 7,000 more who has not bowed down to false god. These 7000 were unknowns to Elijah but God knows them.
There are about 8 billion people on earth today. Whereas we only knew a small percentage of that, God knows everyone.
In Revelation 7:9 John wrote, after this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:
" Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
With most of us being encouraged to stay home, how about if we reread or restudy the teachings of Jesus Christ. Slowly and at our own pace let us go through the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew , Mark, Luke and John.
With that said have a blessed day and days and weeks to come.
As we continue to practice social distancing and day, days and weeks after celebrating Resurrection day, Jesus sacrifice to reconcile us to God is a golden opportunity to get closer to God.
Humbly inching to the throne of grace as we do this by faith. Jesus already won the battle for us but we will need to experience it in our lives. As we kneel before God, He meets us where we are and leads us closer to Him through His Holy Spirit.
Self has to decrease and Jesus or His influence in our lives has to increase.
By hope we look forward when this corona virus will be over but then other problems will have to be tackled and we need to be prepared. Our preparation starts with getting closer to God.
Let us first agree on the following points. That Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible one of which is Deuteronomy. That virus one of which is covid 19 can be classified as plague. That you have a Bible where you can verify the verses that i will mention.
Here are the verses Deuteronomy 28:21,22,59,60,61.
The verses mentioned were first given to Israelites as a warning if they do not obey the voice of the Lord God, His commands and His statutes.
For result of obedience Moses wrote those in Deuteronomy 28:1-14.
God loves us that He is not willing that any one will perish but that all will come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9.
In times like these in which we are battling an unseen foe (virus). We can easily break down due to prolonged helplessness etc. The world is trying its best to combat or deny or make light or solve this spreading virus.
As a Christian together with fellow Christians and our leaders or pastors, turning to prayers and searching the Bible is our response.
My search led me to Deuteronomy chapter 28 but history showed that even the israelites were unable to follow it but thanks to Jesus Christ who came to the rescue.
This coming Easter or Holy Week, is probably the best time to remember the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ and the resulting Resurrection and Jesus ascension back to the throne.
Meanwhile let us gather in Spirit at the foot of the cross and receive grace and mercy with its comfort, strength and hope.
