For Christians we are to please God but then how do we please God ? the Bible says to believe in God's Son Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. Sounds easy but man's practices or beliefs made it more complicated. Some believe it is alright to make images. Some believe Jesus Christ is just a human being. Some believe the Holy Spirit is not a Being but a force or power. Some believe in etc. etc. Some do not care anymore.
What could be the best choice or beliefs ? The best could be to humble ourselves before God and pray. Also read the Bible, pray for understanding. The teachings of the Bible should not contradict itself, so if there is some contradiction, then something is wrong somewhere. Also it is not just reading but doing also and being.
After 41 years of reading the Bible, i still find ways in me that i need to repent of. So growing never stops.
In short or summary Christian life is a lifetime journey.
I am talking about prayer. Our direct line to God through Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit is our charger. When we ask according to God's will He hears us.If we abide in Jesus and His words abide in us He hears us and He gives us what we ask.
From our hearts to God's heart and from God's heart to our hearts. How is this possible ? through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ He cleanses us of all of our sins.
Through the cross is like transmission tower.
The Bible says pray without ceasing that means God will not get tired of our prayers if it is according to His will.
Ephesians 3:20 says God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask and think, according to the power that work in us.
Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Prayer for the world including Sariaya Institute Class of 1969
To the All Powerful, All Knowing Creator of heaven and earth. Our Gracious and Merciful God. We are praying for the whole mankind out of which Sariaya Institute Class of 1969 came out. From the little town of Sariaya, Quezon , Philippines You gave birth to us, You created us.
When Adam and Eve sinned , sin was transferred to the whole of your creation including us. But You provided us a Savior , Jesus Christ whose sinless life was given to save mankind from sin. We the class of 1969 is also looking for your salvation.
Just as You are gathering Your people out of Jerusalem, Samaria and the uttermost part of earth, may we too Class 1969 be gathered too for our 50th Anniversary in the year 2019. Some of our classmates have left this world but we pray that those of us who are alive and remain will be gathered one more time for our reunion here on earth and most of all we will eventually have eternal life in heaven through Your Son Jesus Christ.
The world gage us by our accomplishment, education, possession but our true worth is in Jesus Christ to whom all Authority is given in heaven and on earth.
John 3:16 says God so loved the world that You gave Your only begotten Son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
May we the class of 1969 be included in Your promise. May we embrace Your Son as our Lord and Savior now and forevermore.
Your love and grace and mercy are infinite that not even the whole creation can contain.
Have mercy on us and give us Your grace. We also pray for Your whole creation, may we all know You and give You honor and praise as the water covers the sea.
We pray this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ , Amen.
These are the words that our Lord told apostle Paul in II Corinthians 12:9. Our Lord continued " for my strength is made perfect in weakness". For these words Paul said Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Let us ask how can strength be made perfect in weakness ? In our and human life we observed we are a mixture of strengths and weaknesses. But what if various weaknesses are combined together ? This happened with our Lord Jesus Christ. In the day of his crucifixion, his disciples abandoned Him, God the Father and the Holy Spirit allowed Him to die on the cross for our salvation because He took in Himself sins of mankind . The forces of evil wanted to get rid of Jesus. In His humanity He laid down His divinity to give his life and blood. Add to that the cruelty, abuse, tremendous pain caused by lashes, carrying and the nailing on the cross and crown of thorn.
Our Lord endured all these " Grace and strength endured and triumphed because of Jesus' love for His Father, being led by the Spirit, and for the joy of seeing and fulfilling our salvation.
II Corinthians 13:4 explained For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.
II Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
One of the benefits of owning a Holy Bible is one got the list of the promises of God. It is like owning a gold mine. The promises are for our life on earth and for our life in heaven.
It is amazing that the promises of God gets sweeter and sweeter as the years go by.
Can you name some promises of God ?
In 1985 i bought a small book the "Jesus Person pocket promise book" by David Wilkerson. It has 800 Bible promises arranged by topic and need. That boklet is still with me (Oct. 19, 2017) as i write this blog. Actually there are many books on the promises of God. if you are interested, check the internet.
The treasure that the world knows has to be guarded or protected. Take for example trophies, bank accounts, houses, cars, jewelry, reputation, honor, scholastic records, health, positions, properties, paintings, business, antiques.
Can you think of treasure that protects you ?
Here is the answer:
Jesus Christ, the name above every name.
Let's type it bolder:
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Glory be to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
According to our Lord Jesus it is expedient that He goes away (back to heaven) because He said if He does not the Holy Spirit or the Comforter will not come to us. We know from the Scriptures that the Holy Spirit came and empowered the early believers.
I believe we still have the Holy Spirit today but it seems He remains a mystery to most of us. I believe the Holy Spirit is not confined to one or few Christian denominations but He is where He desires to be. He resides in true believers.
When He is in us we will call Jesus is our Lord or Jesus is Lord. He directs, He reveals, He gives gifts. He is gentle and He can be grieved. He is the Spirit of Truth. The Bible said He will not speak of Himself but whatever He hears from the Father and the Son He will speak or reveal to us.
I believe He deals with us individually and as a group or as a church.
He showed me i need to grow up more and obey more after listening more. That i need to wait more. Again He is gentle.
If i ask you what is man's greatest need, what will be your answer ? Is your answer money ? education ? honor ? health ? family ? house ? food ? air ? water ? clothes ? friends ?
Yes we need those but are those the greatest ? what is our number one need ?
Have we observed man ? almost all men have the same needs. But can we trust men ? your answer most likely be no, is it not ? why ? the answer after we think of all the possibilities is " sin ". Sin reside in men that cause us to be selfish, etc. etc.
If we can get rid of sin in all of us, then problem solve. But one more thing we need love, true love.
But where did man came from ? God created man.
Where did sin came from ? from God's enemy the devil called Satan. Satan tempted , deceived Adam and Eve to take of the forbidden fruit, and then sin was passed on to man.
The Holy Bible or God's written word to man tells us that Jesus Christ is the only solution for sin.
So conclusion: Man's greatest need is Jesus Christ. From Him comes also the greatest love.
Perhaps you have questions, i recommend that you ask a true believer in Jesus Christ.
Let's face it all humans have feet of clay. Just when you like a preacher somebody will call him a false prophet. Why is that ? We are imperfect people being judged by imperfect people. We are all sinners and we fall short of the glory of God.
But i believe we like preachers who preach what we like. Let me suggest a simple guide. Look for preachers who preach the truth with love. Look for preachers who will laugh and cry with you. Look for preachers who truly love Jesus Christ. Look for preachers who admit that they are humans like you. Look for preachers who will help you grow as a Christian.
By the way, maybe you have a better list, please share it with me or us.
