Our Lord Jesus Christ was or is resurrected just as He is. He is sinless from the beginning and when He is resurrected He remained sinless. While we the believers will someday die still not perfect and we will not resurrect still imperfect.
In 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 (NIV), the apostle Paul wrote" I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed- in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: Death has been swallowed up in victory."
Where , O death, is your victory ?
Where , O death ,is your sting ?
The sting of death is sin , and the power of sin is in the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Comment: If we are believers in Jesus, what are written will come true for us, we will be changed, we will be different from our old self. But if we are not believers in Jesus we will stay the same, we will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Jesus or no Jesus, we are given a choice, to believe or not to believe.
Remembering the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ
As Christians we will be remembering or be meditating on the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ this week. Through this blog, I would like to join others and encourage my fellow Christians to do our best to focus on our Lord Jesus Christ and humble ourselves before Him.
We will also remember the resurrection of our Lord which and who is our hope.
I hope more people or souls will come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Let's take a small break from Christian blogging by taking a quick look at machines.
In this modern world we live with machines or shall we say we use them, whether they are cars, vehicles, appliances etc.Today I just finished washing my clothes in a washing machine and transfered the clothes into the dryer. As I started the dryer I noticed some soft banging sound,so at first I said that is nothing maybe that's normal. The sound became louder then soft then finally after a minute I decided to stop the machine to check it out.
I checked my pants pocket even though I am sure I left nothing there, and I was right there was nothing there. After I was ready to restart I checked my jogging pants and lo and behold I saw a small metal flashlight that I forgot to remove, its light was still on or maybe it came on from the banging or hitting.
Quick lesson: Machines do not lie they tell it like it is. Unless there sensor malfunction.Just a reminder, it pays to listen to machine, but I believe it is also good to listen to sound advice.
After 40 years of reading the Bible, I realize now that I still do not fully understand grace. Grace as understood by Christians is unmerited favor from God. That means we can not earn it or attain it but it is given to us by God.It is God's free gift through Jesus Christ revealed to us through the Holy Spirit in His Holy Bible.
Realizing that make me realize that God also give us faith and the works that we do also come from Him.
Grace and truth is found in Jesus Christ. The Bible says that while we were yet sinners Jesus died for us (Romans 5:8). Most of us here alive today were born at least the year 1910 and after. Our birth came about 2000 years after Jesus Christ died on the cross. That means even before we know about Jesus, God gave Jesus to us as the sacrifice for our sins.
I hope you too will know about this grace that God bestows on us. I will continue to meditate on God's grace which is truly amazing as one song says too.
I believe we can have everything but will that everything last ? Let us think about it. We can have money, education, friends , properties, reputation, happiness, family, books, parties , business(personal or otherwise0,health, work whatever.
I will give you some time to think about it. Would you like to hear what life has taught me. If you do keep reading.
I have sought those things above and honestly I got those but my grip or hold on those are fading as i grow old. You may be saying, maybe this guy (me) is getting depressed. You see I am a believer in Jesus, that as time goes even if I have those things above they will soon be gone or some day I will be leaving those.
My conclusion, to have Jesus is to have everything. Is Jesus everything? This may take a long blog if I will attempt to convince everybody but I hope you will come up with same conclusion.
Would you believe I am talking about Catholics/Orthodox and Protestants/Evangelicals ? Briefly Catholics/Orthodox are visual, their way of worship are aided by images or ceremonies while Protestants/ Evangelicals tend to be analytical.
How did I arrive with this observation ? In efforts to share the gospel to non Christians I found myself developing visual aids and ended up with images of the cross which Catholics already have and lots of them.
Is my observation correct ? But let us ask ourselves honestly. If you are Catholic or Orthodox, do you know the why's of Christianity ? If you Protestant or Evangelical, you may know the why's but do you know how to present the gospel without using the image of the cross ?
What do I mean by working motto ? Something to inspire us daily. Boy Scouts have their " Be prepared". Some Christians adaopt " Keep on keeping on". Calvary Chapel have " Know Christ and make Him known". A candidate is " Please God and win the lost".
Some waiting for Jesus adopt " Perhaps Today ". Another possible candidate is "May God be glorified." " By the power of the Holy Spirit".
Others have " What would Jesus do ?". " Victory in Jesus".
Let us hope we will come up with something. I believe the working motto should be used with respect.
